Rabbi Yona Metzger blesses Glenn Beck [video]

Israel - Ahead of his “Restoring Courage” rally which will take place in Israel on August 24, American talk show host Glenn Beck had the opportunity to meet with Israel’s Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger.

The two discussed the upcoming event and the rabbi offered his support.

Speaking to Rabbi Metzger, Beck described the event as a “gathering of people from all over the world who wish to stand for Israel and for the Jewish people.”

As he did when he addressed members of Knesset, Beck said he was inspired by the words of Biblical Ruth, who followed her mother-in-law, Naomi, to Israel from Moab and promised her that “Your people shall be my people and your G-d shall be my G-d.”

Beck asked Rabbi Metzger to take part in the rally and deliver the Prayer for the Welfare of the State of Israel, to which Rabbi Metzger agreed.

I don't really understand what Glenn Beck is trying to do, I know some people have very strong views for and against all this.
I do believe, however, that Rabbi Metzger's blessings work quite well: he blessed an unmarried friend of mine when he was in Sydney to find her beshert and within the year she did just that.

It's an interesting thing- something to keep an eye on. While on one hand one can say that Glenn Beck has stood up for Israel and clearly gave media attention to the wiles of the Plaestinians and their murdering of the Fogel family(Hashem yokom domo), one must still be leary as he is a mormon? They have a belief that all jews must be on Israel so that the 2nd coming of sheker hanavi can take place etc. It is still something to keep on the back burner as a realization that "all" is not absolute here in friendship....

When over the next few months that belief in the man-god is not on the Jewish people's agenda becomes more evident, the Xtians who love us because they are righteous gentiles will be separated out from the ones who love us for their eschatological reasons. The ultimate question will come down to do they believe that human decency for its own sake is more important than their personal salvation. That is the key to judging this situation. It is all about human decency. At this stage in history this is as true for Jews as it is for non-Jews. After the advent of Mashiach ben Yosef, HaShem will find a way to reattach the Klal of Yisrael to the Torah. But first we must work on human decency which is kadmah to the Torah.

I have now been doing this for two decades or more, perceiving whether a Xtian loves us because he is decent or because of the role we will play in his eschatology. I firmly believe that Glenn Beck is in the former camp and not the latter. You can accept my judgment on this matter or not. I have three general rules for perceiving a righteous gentile, and they have never failed me. And according to these three principles, Glenn Beck is a righteous gentile. G-d bless his efforts.

Dov, wait until the Mashiach shows up. Your theories will all be as valuable as the American Dollar.
