So here we are

"In the days before Moshiach.......wisdom shall be putrid; the pious shall be despised........."

'Treatment of haredim – like Nuerenberg Laws'
Eda Haredit member who participated in 'Holocaust display' during Jerusalem rally claims 'persecution of haredim resembles race laws passed in Germany against Jews'; slams secular Jews for 'making Hitler proud by acting like goyim'

After images of kids wearing yellow patches and striped pajamas during haredi protest in Jerusalem shocked many across the country, some participants wished to explain the move.

Moshe, a member of the Eda Haredit sect and resident of Jerusalem's ultra-Orthodox Mea Shaarim neighborhood told Ynet he does not regret participating in the "Holocaust display."

Moshe, who attended the rally along with his eight-year-old nephew, noted that the sect leaders supported the demonstration, even if they did not personally participate. "They didn’t publicly call to attend the rally because they feared that the police might employ violence and rubber bullets, and that haredi blood would be spilled."

The Eda Haredit member attempted to explain the rationale behind the display of Holocaust symbols, saying it was important that secular people understand the campaign that is being conducted against their community.

  1. I like to think that the people in charge of this rally were members of the Neturei Karta as could be inferred by their use of terms such as "Zionism is Racism". The use of holocaust imagery here is incredibly inappropriate regardless of how the secular media has been portraying all Haredim and was clearly meant as a provocation on their own part.

  2. Boosha! I'm sick of everyone comparing the suffering of chickens, Palestinians and now the rebuke of uncivil and rude Hareidi to the suffering of the Jews in the Holocaust. They should be ashamed of themselves! What a disgrace! Whatever happened to accountability and sound judgement?

''In the days before Moshiach.......wisdom shall be putrid; the pious shall be despised......''

The next part of that quote says:
    ''truth will be abandoned''

    So there's your answer.

  5. The exrenists are heretics and what that imagery dies is defines them further as without a moral compass. I live in this. Being spat upon, whil covered hair, arms, skirts to ankles.... It's the sandals! And I wear beautiful colors. Now, if you don't know, please don't post things that are half truths. If the extremists feel persecuted, I say good. What the do to others, the hatred, in G-d's Name, is heresy. If this is who you are, and what you believe, you are so far off the derech... Aha at Yisrael is not what is going on in those extremists.

  6. Devorah, you are so right. the fact that the community of Israel tried very hard to hold accountable those who were disrespecting others, and then that accountability being considered racist by the perpetrators rather than an honest look at the mater and then teshuvah and apology makes you really look twice at becoming their kind of pious. Just for the record its those precious Jewish souls out there who dress modest but do not make themselves obvious who should be looked up to. The quite humble kind, those ones you can count on to be there for you and would automatically admit a wrong and try to rectify it. Not make a mockery of millions who died. HaSHem help us some how we need to unite and I am afraid its going to take horrific measures to bring us to unity if we as a nation do not turn this thing right.

  7. Just Me: I agree with you. I'm not really concerned how or why this is happening, I'm just pointing out where we are at: the pious are being scorned, even if it is their own doing that has brought it about, it's another sign that Moshiach is close.

  8. "...truth will be abandoned", IMO, applies to the chareidim. They have abandoned the truth with their arrongance and sina towards their fellow Jews. I guess I would be called a Chareidi woman by the way I dress, however, I am disgusted by their despicable actions. They are an embarassment to Klal Yisroel and most importantly to Hashem. Their actions are also sending a terrible message to frum teenagers. One girl I know has decided not to keep Shabbos anymore, and she has mentioned that she hates Rabbis and uses the actions of the Chareidim in EY to bolster her decision. What a shame!

  9. This kind of arrogance is a sin. Do they really think that being sternly rebuked for spitting on a little girl and calling her a whores is "persecution?" They actually think G-d approves of this.. They are so off the derech!

  11. Thanks for clearing that up, Devorah! Hashem is showing us how he keeps his promises... I can't wait for moshiach to come and finish the arguments, once and for all!

Devora would you consider posting this video, with English if possible. And maybe write about zaka, yad sarah, etc, etc ,etc.

These photos are shocking, but enough with the incitement against the hareidim. We look at the shoah with 20/20 hindsight, but this is how it started, with dehumanisation. And if you think this is exagerated, just sixty years ago, Ben Gurion gave the orders to kill Jews, and in the expulsion war just six years ago, the only reason there were no fatalities was on account of the passivity of the settlers. The ultra left is waging a war against the religious in Israel. This is not paranoia, it is happening in front of our very eyes.

  13. True pious people don't go around assaulting women and children!

  14. There seems to be a lot of confusion in these comments. On the one hand there are a very small number of hareidi men behaving abominably. On the other hand, the Israeli media is conducting a shocking campaign of incitment against ALL hareidim. Both should be condemned.

In response to Devora, "the pious are being scorned" is true regarding the whole of the hareidi public, but as for "even if it is their own doing that has brought it about", how can you say that these people are pious. They are a chillul Hashem.

And to those who tar all hareidim with the same brush, well don't complain when the goyim do the same to the Jews. I am not defending the pictures above, but you have to understand that the Holocaust started with incitement and that the incitement against the hareidim and the national religious in Israel is at fever pitch.

  15. If all hareidim condone and defend the disgusting actions of the few extremists then I'm sorry but they deserve the scorn of the public.

These ways are not defensible, what they should be doing is condemning the actions of those who would assault children and women.

They are not the actions of those who have true faith in Hashem.

These ultra-Orthodox extremist types may be seen as the true pious, but remember the words of our sages, "he who practices Torah Lo Lishma, his Torah becomes to him a potion of death."

For these people, the Torah is already a potion of death! It's up to us who know better to distance ourselves from this, and not allow the Torah to be dragged in the filth by the few who are as bats that feed in darkness and not Light.

If we don't stand up against these acts that degrade the Torah, then we deserve the incitement of hatred that the rest of the nations will pour upon us, Chas V'Shalom!

  16. To Bracha!
    Toda Rabba!
    And thanks!

Also, it is most timely to remind ourselves that the primary reason for this long Galut is b/cause of Sinat Chinam, baseless hatred.
The antidote for the Galut is: Ahavat Chinam = 'baseless' LOVE.
Let us all consider well the basis of our holy Torah:
    Ve'Ahavta le're'acha ka'mocha...
    Love your fellow-Jew as yourself.
