The Way It Is

The Kotzker Rebbe said: "Aub es geit nit vi es vilt zich, darfmen vilan vi es geit!" - "If it does not go the way you want it to be, then you have to go along with the way it is from Heaven".

[Rabbi Chaim Dalfin as heard from Reb Zelig Levin]

  1. My Grandfather, a Rabbi from Belarus, put it like this:

"What cannot be cured, must be endured."

Similar to the "Serenity Prayer", but that is just the beginning.

Chabad would have us respond with Joy, Simcha; increase our Tefillah, Teshuvah & Tzedakah with Joy; and go from strength to strength with Joy. From the "challenge" infer in which area you must increase your efforts, then do so with Joy of course. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query="a+movement+on+trial"

  2. Continued:
"God didn't create anything in vain." So ask, what is the lesson? Infer what the lesson is from the challenge. Relative to our abilities, talents, and the divine blessings, we haven't achieved sufficiently, so we must intensify our efforts. We must go from strength to strength with joy.
