When we speak about ''the end of the world'', we actually mean the end of the concealment. The Hebrew word ''Olam'' - ''world'' - stems from the word Olama - to conceal, or hide. Because Hashem hides Himself in this world. When Moshiach will come, the darkness will disappear, and all will be revealed.
Hashem hides Himself in the Creation, to give us the feeling that everything is according to nature.
So the ''end of the world'' does not mean destruction, it means a lifting of the curtain of darkness that conceals Hashem and the Light.
It is in the sidebar to your blog. Before the world of Truth can come in 5776, the world of lies must disappear by the end of 5775. + a week or two. Even more importantly, 5776 is not just the "8th year". It is a potential Yovel year, being the 50th year starting with the Motzei Shmittah year 5727, the year of the 6 Day War and the reunification of Yerushalayim. Normally an 8th year is nothing special (just the first year of the next Shmittah cycle), but the last two potential Yovel years marked the Balfour Declaration in the Fall of 5678 along with the conquest of Yerushalayim by British PM Lloyd Gog over the Turks around the same time followed 49 years later by the 6 Day War. So 5776 is again another 49 years later and a potential Yovel year.
ReplyDeleteAnd since the last two potential Yovel years partially realized the potential to return the Jews to their possessions, this one coming up has the potential to fully realize its potential.
