On 20 January, all five bright planets – Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn – will appear in a line, visible to the naked eye. From 20 January to 20 February, all five visible planets will sit in a line from the horizon to the moon - for the first time since 2005. Read more at Australian Geographic.
20th January is Yud Shvat which you can read about here.
Yud Shvat is also the yahrzeit of Ariel Sharon a''h.
i remember arik sharon's yahrzeit. a couple of my rabbis say he was jewish. they have not heard otherwise.. its also the yahrzeit of Today is the Yahrzeit of Rabbi Shalom Sharabi, the "RaShaSh" (1720-77), author of Siddur HaKavvanot Kabbalistic prayerbook. G-d willing i will be lighting yahrzeits candles for all.
ReplyDeleteAriel Sharon's mother was not Jewish and some just question whether her giyur was kosher. If it was, of course, he was Jewish.
ReplyDeleteThis is the Dawning of the Age of the Water Bucket?? when the moon is in the 7th house and when Jupiter is aligned with Mars??
ReplyDeleteThe Water Bucket is the Jewish equivalent of Aquarius. I should point out that Aquarius, the gentile equivalent mazal to the D'li (the Water Bucket), has a face because HaShem hands the keys to rain to the angels overseeing the nations of the world. But in Eretz Yisrael, HaShem does NOT hand the keys to rain to any angel to dispense rain IN Eretz Yisrael. So In E. Yisrael alone, the Water Bucket does not have a face.
NYT had an article on this, with a tip for viewing: "a simple trick: close one eye, stretch out your arm and slowly pass your thumb over a bright dot in the sky. If the dot slowly dims out when your thumb passes over it, it’s a planet. If it quickly blinks out, it’s a distant star."
ReplyDeleteIn this link regarding 10 shevat: http://www.chabad.org/therebbe/article_cdo/aid/3196131/jewish/Yahrtzeit-Observances.htm the Rabi (of Lubavitch) Talks about the custom of lit five candels on this day.
