We have to do Heshbon Hanefesh, but if we hurt someone, even inadvertently and they forgive us, then we won't suffer. That is why we say the bedtime Shema. The Chofetz Chaim says there is no punishment without kitrug. I wouldn't mind asking Rabbi Anava about this, but this is how I see it.
My comment above is not to reduce the importance of the mitzvot. It is a package deal. Everything in the Torah is true and important even if we don't know the reason right now, we will certainly know it once there is more light in the world.
Whats pshat the goyim also suffer from mental illnesses?
ReplyDeleteYes, I also have a few questions, such as why people who have never said Kriat Shema do NOT have mental illness.
