Similarly, in these final moments of exile, it is the approach of Aharon - bringing the Jewish people closer to observing the Torah [Avos 1:12] - which will bring the Divine Presence back to earth once again. Outreach can be done even in small ways, like smiling and greeting someone. Build a connection with someone whether it's a neighbor or co-worker. Invite them for Shabbos. I had a discussion with someone about people feeling conflicted, whether or not it's a good idea to invite, if the person will drive. My friend said, we are Not making them drive, they would do it anyway. They might as well go somewhere holy, ie. a Shabbos.
ReplyDeleteMeeting people right where they are and extending a genuine welcome is what Abraham modeled for us. It's still a mitzvah.
