An Israeli news report states that Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, whilst visiting a father in Bnei Brak whose son had just passed away, said to him “The redemption is closer than ever”.
Kooker reports that the man asked Rav Kanievsky “How can you console me, when my dear son left behind ten orphans?”
Rabbi Kanievsky answered him, “Don’t be sad. The Moshiach is already here. He will reveal himself very soon and your son will see his children again.”
Barukh Hashem..
ReplyDeleteI came to the blog (again today, come many times a day:) ) and saw this latest posting... My heart leaped in joy..
and my hair stood on end.. not through fright... but because its such wonderful news to hear from this great blessed Rabbi..
I should not get so excited, have much to do .. much teshuva..
Its still wonderful news..
Baruch Hashem!!

I hope it's not too soon , I haven't done teshuva yet
ReplyDeleteFor a Jewish leader of the stature of Rabbi Kanievsky to declare that Moshiach is already here...this is huge. Please Hashem, crown MBD already and usher in our golden geula!! Ms. AP
ReplyDeleteWhen Mashiach is crowned and we see him in the realia, the difficult work will just begin. It will be a bumpy ride into the future Geula (as opposed to what we have already been experiencing in the early stages of this Geula). At least, that’s my impression.
ReplyDeleteNeshama, you are probably right but i think that the level of difficulty will be directly proportional to our own level of yiddishkeit, for our individual tikkun. All should work out in the end and the world will be a very different place. Yep, it looks like a bumpy, scary ride but the outcome will be so rewarding. Ms. AP
ReplyDeleteAmen to all above comments. They are all with good perspective.
ReplyDeleteYes, while I can feel badly for the family and situation that the family had to endure, Rabbi Kanievsky's words are chizuk. May it be soon and yes, anonymous, we all need to do teshuvah now- not too soon for Moashiach to come. :)
Of course he is here, has been in Jerusalem since 2003. But he is waiting for God when he should reveal himself publically even though the Creator identified him back in 2003 (which was witnessed by a handful of rabbi's from every sect of normative Judaism plus another 100 or so lay people), then concealed him, so we wait, and he waits. But the bottom line, its our behavior that matter. Human decency.
ReplyDeleteMoshiach is always here....which is why it says in the gemara that if we would but just listen to Hashem he would release moshiach immediately...so not really sure that saying moshiach is already here really means much. I suspect he probably just said it to give people hope.
ReplyDeletealways hope & pray we have the IMMEDIATE REDEMPTION everybody everyday does teshuva even the pious -- teshuva means return to Hashem the Jewish people have already done all that is needed, we went through so much we cannot wait a second more for Moshiach we cry out everyday Ad Mosai
ReplyDeleteGenoism, so sorry but I don't agree. A lot needed to happen before Moshiach was crowned below and identified. We have been at the proper time for a few years but human nature being what it is, most need to be scared into yiddishkeit which is very sad but true. This include some of my family members which i find quite depressing. Nibiru has its "work" cut out for it by Hashem. The Rav was certainly fully aware of the impact his words would have, well beyond that shiva house. This was not just the Rav providing comfort to the grieving family but prophetic words confirming what the FC individuals and other Ravs are saying. May we all merit to be part of this incredible event and do as much Teshuva, Chessed and Tikkum Olam while we still can. Ms. AP
ReplyDeleteYou could be right...you could be wrong. Only time will tell :)
ReplyDeleteWill Chabad accept someone other than the Rebbe as Moshiach? Would Satmar accept a Lubavitcher as Moshiach? Would a Charedi accept a Dati Leumi Moshiach? Or vice versa? Would a misnaged accept a Chassid?
ReplyDeleteUntil these can all honestly be answered with a yes, Moshiach will never be accepted.
Michael... I can feel mashiach is here, when I focus in prayer I can almost feel the shechina. When a person as lowly and coarse as myself can feel this, it is no leap at all to expect every Yid to accept the mashiach, to love every yid, to return and have absolute faith in Hashem. Let's all just pray for geulah with a broken heart and there will be no question about what colour tie Moshiach will wear and whether he wears a kapote or not.
DeleteYou make a good point Michael and I just hope that Moshiach's status is so obvious to everyone, that those arguments will not arise.
ReplyDeleteAs to Michael's question above, maybe it will be like Ester, whose chein was so great that everyone thought she was from their people. IY"H everyone will identify with Mashiach. We can never say "until such-and-such" Mashiach cannot come, because the Rambam writes that the ikar of belief in Mashiach includes believing that he can come any day.
ReplyDeleteFrom everything i have seen and heard, it seems apparent that Mashiach is already here, and about to come. But let us remember that it would be solely out of Hashem Yisbarech's pure kindness. We do not deserve it...
ReplyDeleteThough, Chazal teach that there is a Mashiach in each generation. It is all very complicated to me. There are a couple of promises about Mashiach that we know, though: He will come before or in the year 6000 (as the Sages teach) and if we all do Teshuva, he will come. Rav Elchonon Wasserman zt"l came to Rav Elya Svei zt"l one time, and told him that Mashiach would come in 2009, but....
On the simple level, it might seem like Rav Elchonon was wrong! But, maybe Mashiach was born then, and he will be coming soon.
Regardless of Mashiach, it is up to every single person to return to our Father in Heaven.
And may Hashem make this the last day of Galus, Amein vi'Amein!!
Also, may Hashem help you continue to spread Torah in good health, forever.
Have a wonderful, wonderful day!

And, P.S. if you want to check out my blog, it is achsameach.blogspot.
Moshiach will only come when Iran kills off one third of the world's population, it say according to Shia Islam that the Messiah wouldn't come until one third of the world's population dies, and only in Shia Islam are they allowed to quicken the arrival of the Messiah, that's why Iran is keen on having a "nuclear energy program" so they can fulfill their prophecy of bringing out the Messiah
ReplyDeleteMoshiach is already on earth, you can believe me. Many people have seen him, but only 2 people know that he's the Moshiach and his location. Actually he's not going to introduce himself to the Israeli Rabbis, they'll not understand and easily accept his teachings.

ReplyDeleteShuki, u just made a whole lot of assumptions on your claim on who know what and who doesn't. And if I'm not mistaken it appears to new like you're Christian putting in some subtle hints towards your heretical saviour.
ReplyDeleteThose who know don't speak; those who speak don't know.
