Today we're going to devote our thoughts to the coming year. The number of the
year has many allusions. This coming year is 5777, according to the Jewish
calendar, the number of years from creation. The way we usually count it is as
777, the 5000 being set apart. It is customary to create an acronym out of the
letters that spell the 777, which are תשעז .The acronym which is customarily given
starts with the two words, "May this be a year of…" [תַ נְ שׁ אֵ הֵ תּ ]And what we are
asking for is to interpret the two final letters, which in our case are עז .So the full
acronym depends on what the letters עז stand for.
5777 indeed is a very special number. The Hebrew letters are תשעז. If you split the word in two it spells תש עז, which means weaken the mighty or the brazen. We saw the fulfillment of this with the election of Donald Trump, which was so obviously the Yad Hashem that only a fool would deny it. Trump was elected even though virtually every powerful group in American society (most notably the media) was opposed him.

תש עז, which means weaken the mighty or the brazen - I like that! I'm seeing it around me as well, brazen personalities are being weakened everywhere. It's totally incredible.
ReplyDeleteThis truly is the year of Hashem. 5+7+7+7=26, which is the gematria of the four-letter name of Hashem. Moreover, the same is true in the A"T B"S system of gematria, under which 5 (Heh)is 90 (Tzadi) and 7 (Zayin) is 70 (Ayin). 90+70+70=70=300, which is the gematria of the four-letter name of Hashem in A"T B"S.

'Ez panim', or 'brazen-faced' is also one of the most common terms used by our Sages to describe the Erev Rav.
ReplyDeleteFive and Seven are also very special numbers. This world was created with the letter Heh (Rashi to Bereishis 2:4) and it is the letter associated with Teshuvah. And Chazal teach that the sevens are precious (chavivin) to Hashem.
