I put them in alphabetical order.... they are all together in New York giving a joint shiur entitled "A Night to Remember''. I think Moshiach must be close...
Rabbi Anava in my humble view has just the right mixture between chassidim and gevurot. In his voice and face, his whole style, what he says and how he says it, perfect father i guess, and teacher of course
yes, Rav Anava has a wonderful balance in what he says and in how he says it. His words ring with truth, and in an inspiring spiritual manner that stays with me.
He has a very low tolerance for people who don't necessarily know enough to know that what they are doing is wrong. This is why I prefer the Chabad way of going about things... no-one is judged for their lack of orthodoxy and/or their ignorance. It is when we start judging others that we create our own judgments and even great people can fall into this trap. Most Jews today don't know anything at all, that's the truth. Those of us who listen to shiurim and try to learn more.... we are just a minority. There is still so much work to be done...
I feel that sometimes rabbis can expect us to be on their level when it comes to observance, and their level is just way too high for us. It's far better to draw people in with chessed [kindness] and love rather than with gevurah - strictness and fear. The fear never did it for me... I responded to the love not the fear mongering. But everyone is different I guess.

ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, first he slanders the Jewish people and then he says how terrible slander is..
