PRAYER FOR RAIN IN RURAL NSW AND OTHER PARTS OF AUSTRALIA
Heavenly Father, Creator of Heaven and earth:
You form the clouds and gather them one by one.
Please, in Your mercy, send rain of blessing and goodwill to speedily moisten and revive the parched earth of rural Australia.
May the fields of our fair island again be adorned with healthy crops and green vegetation.
May those who work the soil not become destitute for lack of produce.
Satisfy us all with Your goodness!
May all the inhabitants of this blessed land know that You are G-D who sends relief to the ailing.
May the earth be filled with the knowledge and the glory of G-D as the waters cover the sea bed! Amein
A bit of rain fell this morning - thanknn n you Hashem - please send more
ReplyDeleteTodah Rabbah for posting Rav Ingram's prayer. Met him on numerous occasions on his weekly trek to Queensland for Shabbat services.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, we prayed yesterday and we received 130mm - 5 inches of rain last night in one hour. This is more than Brisbane received in the past 6 months. And more coming, Baruch HaShem!!!!
Farmers west of us also received a sizeable drink.
ps....enjoyed the above video :-)
I'm glad your prayers were answered so speedily, we didn't get much rain but it was a start. We're gonna have to do a lot more praying if we want the heavens to open like they did in that video.
ReplyDeletePlease HaShem... bring abundant rain so that Your Great Name will be lifted up...
ReplyDeleteElisheva,
ReplyDeleteWe know you mean our good, and aren't trying to be negative.... However, it would be worthy noting that the greatest of our sages of all times have never advised all of the above that you are begging us to do. They have all held that living like a frum jew with a yearning to serve Hashem and a yearning for the Geualah is what's proper and expected. The final ' ingathering' they all left to Hashem. And we daven along those lines every day too.
But your caring is appreciated, and we surely hope that the minute that Hashem expects that of us, we will know.
And, I'm actually sure we will.
But, it seems like some of you will never give up on this point. Oh, well.

SK: Agree with you, and that commenter has told us to make aliyah at least half a dozen times. I have deleted her comment .There is no need for anyone to keep telling those of us in the diaspora to make aliyah. We would if we could. We are where Hashem has put us and for our own personal reasons we cannot make aliyah and I'm not going to say this again, because it's getting very boring. There is not going to be another holocaust chas v'shalom, and yes anti semitism rises before Moshiach comes, we know this. We are not stupid. I'm not going into my personal reasons but everyone has valid personal reasons and these commenters don't know our situations and should not be giving advice, no matter how well intentioned, when they don't have the full facts. In fact it is forbidden halachically to keep telling someone to do something when you already know they can't or won't.
