I definitely prefer to get my information from someone like Rabbi Kessin, than from anywhere else. We are being bombarded with information at the moment, choose your sources wisely.
Author, I have no idea what you are talking about. I have never posted that Rabbi on my blog. You are confusing me with another blogger. Please stop sending me comments with the word "hate". I find it quite disturbing.
This war caught everyone by surprise... except the Geula bloggers and their readers, the "Geula Watchers".. an email that went out from a clueless diaspora Rabbi who thought everything was great for the Jews now.... people have deluded themselves into thinking that something like the Holocaust was a "never again" thing.
I'm quite amazed that a man as learned as this particular Rabbi is, knows zero about the final war of Gog u Magog.... and here I am, someone who knows next to nothing .... and I am way ahead in terms of knowledge of what is actually happening right now.
People make fun of us because we await Moshiach, people think we believe in "fairy tales" when we speak of Moshiach. Even now, I say to people Moshiach is at the door... and still they shake their heads and don't understand.
Soon they'll all be begging for Moshiach and pleading with Hashem to end this nightmare. That's what Hashem wants, for all these people to realize that there is only one G-d and we must turn to Avinu sh'baShamayim because that is all there is.
I’ve been waiting for moshiach with bated breath for the last 8 years I never thought there would be a war either. With all the blogs that I read and from other articles Lubavitcher rebbe said it will be very calm , another rabbi said there will be no war if u don’t believe in it. I even heard the war will last 12 mins I also read the gog Magog war will be fought with needles (covid vax) There r lots of ideas I even thought covid and the deaths from the vax was our big kapara. And there would be no need for a war. Malky
I know I expresed doubts about fickle or insipid support from the international community, but please see UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman speak, embedded in this article. You'd almost want her to be the Israeli PM.
(Note she mentions that there are Holocaust survivors amongst the hostages in Gaza.)
For those who don't know, the BBC is still obstinately and tenaciously refusing to call the Hamas barbarians terrorists. This is causing a storm in the UK.
LL: Australia has also banned any form of hate speech [from Jihadists notably] and offenders are now facing jail time. The police force has been deployed to give extra security to Jewish areas, and it has not escaped anyone's attention that there is no need for any extra police in muslim areas as everyone here already knows the Jews are a peaceful people, and they are going out of their way to make sure we are safe.
We have to draw the distinction between appreciating the support that we receive to relying on it. Prior to the Simchat Torah Shoah, Arabs have been murdering us in Israel for decades and decades and the international community like a broken record habitually called on both sides to show restraint, when not simply blaming us, often for completely fabricated events. Jewish blood has indeed been cheap. The only reason we are witnessing this swell of international support is because the barbarians' atrocities were even worse than those of the Nazis yimach shemam, and possibly the worst thing most people have ever witnessed in their lifetime.
Every normal human being is sick to their stomach from the sight of their eyes. One story in particular that resonated with non Jews was that of Thomas Hand, when he seemed to express 'jubilation' on finding out that his angelic eight year old daughter was found dead, and thus had not been taken as a captive to Gaza, as that would have been a fate worse than death. However, the story will become the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, never mind that Hamas caused it, and the support for Israel will dissipate, reverting back to the insipid, both sides are as bad as each other narrative, and that's at best.
All of us cling to an illusion of something providing us with safety, even if we are not consciously aware of it. In Israel it was the army, the multi billion dollar state of the art border fence, the government, the safe room, and yet on shabbat we were back in the Shoah. (And those illusions have indeed been blown to smithereens). In chul, it's the feeling of being far away from the atrocities and of having government protection, but they too are illusions.
As Be"D we do seem to be in the final stages of chevlei mashiach, Hashem wants each one of us to rely on Him alone (obviously do the appropriate hishtadlut, but don't make that your rock). It's really hard, facing fears, feeling vulnerable, and truly trusting in Hashem and in Hashem alone. This applies to Jews wherever they live.
Agree LL. I saw Thomas Hand being interviewed, it was aired on a prime time nationwide current affairs show last night. That's exactly how I would feel as well. The collective pain and suffering throughout the world right now is so immense, and it's just getting started. I see the tide turning, when the images of Gazan children being blown up start being shown.
Malky I have also thought about what the Lubavitcher Rebbe said regarding the war of Gog and Magog and that it would be fought outside of Israel etc. The thing is, he said that a long time ago, in a different generation to ours, and perhaps at that time he foresaw the coming of Moshiach in his time, but that generation obviously wasn't worthy enough to see Geula.
There is always a potential Moshiach in every generation, but whether or not that person is revealed as Moshiach depends very much on how we behave. We have now reached the point where it looks like we are going to see Moshiach soon, but we first have to go through the 3rd and final part of Gog u Magog.
The Vilna Gaon said that the war of Gog u Magog would begin on Hoshana Raba. The Lubavitcher Rebbe taught that every day is connected to the day before it, and the day after it. Which means that when the Vilna Gaon "saw" the beginning of the war on Hoshana Raba, we can accept his prophecy because the following day is connected to Hoshana Raba.
Rabbi Kessin also speaks about the fact that the war began just hours after Hoshana Raba ended, and it was probably still Hoshana Raba in America.
The tide has already turned, with headlines of 'BBC Man's Gaza Tears, I've seen things I can't unsee'.
It's so transparent, they're trying to turn it into both sides are as bad as each other. Co-opting the Israeli story of having suffered genuine atrocities. 'But you see, atrocities on both sides.' No understanding or caring to understand what is really happening.
Hamas launched its attack to boost its popularity with the population, in their quest to also beat Fatah in elections in Yehuda and Shomron. They know their voter base. Arabs in Aza celebrated the atrocities against us.
Be'D the international community will provide assistance to all Arab civilians to permanently leave the Gaza Strip and Israel will raze the whole place down.
I had hoped and prayed for the geula shleima berachamim, that one day we would just hear the final shofar, there would be gilui malchut Hashem, and olam hasheker would just disappear.
Let's all act with extreme rachamim towards each other to arouse extreme rachamim m'lemaalah.
L.L. Very well said, and I also appreciated the vid. of the young reporter who quit BBC. Its probable that the billions Biden gave Iran are financing the BBC's and general-media's poisonous tongues. I do question question some of your assertions, though. For example, how are these atrocities worse than Nazi atrocities? Also, I'm in chul and have zero illusions of protection (having wasted hours sounding out various locals on the topic of security, and also knowing the degree to which infiltrators have mushroomed). However, I have been wondering how I can get training in using/buying a gun. After all, it does state: הבא להרגך השכם להרגו
A real concern as well, are those stuck in dangerous locales. For example, Iranian Jews, and also jails which throw Jews and Muslims together, and also "Jewish" nursing homes whose Jewish "inmates" are at the mercy of aides that are vicious even in =non= inflammatory times, let alone these past days when media has been influencing them! (Speak of Egla Arufa - what I say is an understatement.)
Devorah, your mention of the Vilna Gaon and R'Kessin vis-a-vis Hoshana Raba was interesting, as well as the Ruach Hakodesh of Rav Shternbuch. Can the latter be what Rabbi Yaron Reuven had been speaking of? I.E. maybe Rav Shternbuch was the one who performed the Goral Ha'gra which Rabbi Reuven spoke about. M.M.
I don't know who Rabbi Reuven spoke about, but also the Belzer Rebbe spoke about war just before it started, and another Rebbe. I think a lot of people have ruach haKodesh and felt it was about to happen, but obviously not the Israeli government.
Rav Sternbuch, as well as Rav Zilber spoke about it on Chol HaMoed Succos, days before it happened. Rav Sternbuch literally spoke about how to behave when a massacre happens on Simchat Torah... Saw the recording of his speech about it. Will try to find and post
Ha-ha, the top echelons of governments may well have been the perpetrators, as many have suspected including you. Going by that narration of autistic-Daniel, which I can't quite decipher with my low-level Ivrit. M.M.
