This came up randomly for me, I wasn't looking for it.
Rambam comments: "Nine red heifers were prepared from the time this mitzvah was given until the destruction of the Second Temple. The first was prepared by Moshe, the second by Ezra, and there were seven from Ezra until the destruction of the Temple. The tenth will be made by King Mashiach - May he be speedily revealed! Amen, may this be your Will!"
And yet, here is Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz, who is a well-known journalist, telling us under the title of "Breaking News" that they have just found a kosher Cohen who can perform the ceremony for the 10th red heifer.
This is from the FB page of the Temple Institute
A KOHEN FIT TO PERFORM THE RED HEIFER CEREMONY! The young kohen in the photo visiting the red heifer candidates in Shiloh, is fit to perform the red heifer ceremony. He came into the world via home birth, has never set foot in a hospital or cemetery, and therefore considered by halacha (Jewish law) to be of the highest level of Torah purity, having never contracted tum'at met (impurity imparted by contact with a corpse). Should he opt to participate in the Temple Institute’s ongoing preparations in anticipation of the renewal of the ashes of the red heifer, he will undergo intense instruction and training.

ReplyDeleteThink we should wait for Moshiach to decide!
Absolutely, these zealots are treading on dangerous territory. The "tenth" already appeared in America just 2 months after the Rebbe died in 1994 the FIRST EVER pure all white bison heifer calf was born fulfilling global prophecies that the Shechinah had come. The natives had been wsiting for the sign of the white heifer calf for thousands of years. Red and white colors are the key. The red was turned pure white. B'H no need ever again for animal sacrifice. Only incense and prayer according to ths Rashbi
DeleteAlso, don't think you can trust the 'Breaking News' website; it is known to be from the messianics. This seems to be well known as a non-kosher site.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, the tenth heifer cannot be sacrificed until Moshiach is here and we have the Beit HaMikdash. The Xtians are very much behind this endeavor to sacrifice the tenth parah adumah. Do not believe any thing that goes against our Torah Laws and mesorah. Dangerous territory to go against the Written Torah Laws (d'Oraisa).
Someone from one of the xtian ministries was saying that the reason why the red heifer sacrifice has been delayed is because of the fighting and the Government has not given permission now.
ReplyDeleteIt is being reported that the red heifer sacrifice is scheduled for 22 April which is erev Pesach. I don't know if that's true, but I've seen several people saying it.
ReplyDeleteHere's one of them

Dear Devorah, Nothing the xians are saying is factual. Every year, a small group applies for permission to bring korban Pesach and it is always rejected. Then someone is usually caught trying to smuggle a lamb onto Har Habayit. I think the reasoning is that we have to try and if we still can't accomplish it then we are at least not guilty before Heaven for not bringing it as we were prevented.
ReplyDeleteBecause of the hysteria over the red heifer, the xians think that's what is going on, but the permit application being circulated clearly says "korban pesach" on it. Also it's for Har Habayit access and the red heifer is not burnt on Har Habayit, but on Har Hazeitim.
This and this make me wonder what/who is really behind this red heifer meshugas.
