In my interpretation, Rabbi Kessin is not agreeing that the Jews failed in our mission to bring Hashem into this world. He is not claiming that the Christians replaced the Jews. Which is the claim that some Christians And Rastafaris make out themselves, and is called "Replacement Theology."
He is merely saying that once the second Beit Hamikdash was destroyed, and we went into exile the century after that, Hashem need to bring the non-Jews closer to him by a means other than the Jews, who were discredited through the sin of Sinat Hinam.

Only listened to the first 20 minutes. I'm no scholar of Christianity, but I don't think R' Kessin is correct when he says Jesus was crucified for being a low level criminal. My understanding is that the Romans saw Jesus as a threat to their rule in Judea because he was claiming to be the "king of the Jews".
I think maybe the Rabbi is going a little too far with these explanations. The only logical reason for the religions of the world is to make for a civilized society. We need to understand that religions were created by them taking their ideas and beliefs from our Torah. Even the mythologies come from the subconscious of humanity that knows there is a G-D (a supreme being). That is why the two major religions of the world believe in the One G-D, but from their capacity of understanding of a supreme being which does not fully concur with the Torah.
