The Hebrew name for Scorpio is "Akrav" - Scorpion. Our sages teach us that the scorpion is the most deadly member of the general category of poisonous creatures whose archetypal figure is the primordial snake of Eden. The word akrav derives from the word akev, "heel," as is said: "and you [the snake] shall bite him [man] at the heel" (Genesis 3:15). Thus the akrav symbolizes the consummate "bite" of the snake at the heel of man. While in general, the poison of the snake is "hot," the poison of the scorpion is "cold."

Midrash Tanchuma explains the proximity of Cheshvan to the month which follows it, Kislev:
One who remains rebellious (i.e. who does not repent) experiences a descent to the lowest levels - like a scorpion crawling on the ground or thrown into the brambles. However, one who repents is shot forth like an arrow from the bow (the bow is the sign of Kislev).

The judgment which occurred in Tishrei can bring a person to a higher level if the opportunities for repentence are utilized. Or, a person can descend to a level which is lower than before the judgment took place. The task of this month is to determine honestly what one's personal experience has been and to determine how to improve upon it.

The Akrav is symbolic of descent into that state of nothingness and silence which is known as gehinnom. It is a state in which actions not done are measured against those that were done. Imprisoned by non-activity, the soul, always yearning to move ahead, is punished by being held back. This is known among the commentators as "going through fire", for its purpose is to cleanse the soul much as metal is purged of dross. After undergoing this process of purification, the soul is ready to enter into a state of Paradise to enjoy the pure fruits of its labour.

The month of Cheshvan is a time for orderly study at the onset of a new year. It is the time when lessons can be learned from the past and preparations can be made for the future.

Cheshvan is called "chodesh bul", from the word mabul, (the flood). The flood began on the 17th of Cheshvan, and ended the following year on the 27th of Cheshvan. The following day, the 28th of Cheshvan, Noah brought his sacrifice to G-d and G-d swore never again to bring a flood upon the earth to destroy all mankind, and then revealed the sign of His covenant with the world, the rainbow.

Cheshvan is the only month which has no holidays or special mitzvot. We are taught that it is "reserved" for the time of Mashiach, who will inaugurate the third Temple in Cheshvan.

The sense of smell is the most spiritual of all senses. The Hebrew word for "smell," rei'ach, is cognate to that for "spirit" (ruach). Our sages teach us that smell is the one and only sense that "the soul enjoys and not the body."

Interesting, doesn't the gemora say Mashiach can come like a scorpion or like a lost object?

Something interesting to discuss: if iran attacks israel from Iraq (basra) as they are threatening. That would accomplish the prophecy of the attack from basra, no?

I'm not familiar with that prophecy, where do we find it?

It's really offensive how Google gives you an AI answer to anything you Google now. Even Torah ! I don't want AI's opinion thank you.
Anyone know of a better search engine?

Third temple is here as the Lubavitcher Rebbe predicted. The cloud and sulam to experience fully the cloud is also available. This chodesh of chesvan the aqrav arachnid scorpion may be discovered now. For some they may encounter and be stung. For some they will marvel and rejoice with the encounter. Give up political hate and all kinds of religious supremacism. . Healing teshuvah is possible. margolis

Would Trump winning this Tuesday be considered very messianic?

-Judy

Devorah said...

Trump represents good and Harris represents evil.

Anonymous said...

That doesn’t make it messianic. There were many presidents that only wanted good.

-Rivka

Devorah said...

I didn't say it was messianic, and I didn't say there weren't other good presidents.

I do think that there has never been such an obvious battle between good and evil in a US election.

Yeshayahu saw it all in Chesvan, someone goin to get stung badly: " 5:20
{ס} 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that change darkness into light, and light into darkness; that change bitter into sweet, and sweet into bitter! {S}" Margolis

I'm starting to notice that Trump is bad for chutznik jews. They won't leave under him.
However, civil war will lock everyone in under martial law...so...no one leaving anyway...

Isn't Trump supposed to be good for Jews according to Rabbi Kessin and many others? Isn't he supposed to prep E"Y to make it practical for chutzniks to move there?

Re: the Jimmy Dore video, how chilling. I can totally see the scenario he cited happening. But I'm hoping the type of scenario's which took place during the Mabul (or יציאת מצרים) will happen to the bad guys if they try to pull off their tricks.

Jesse Kelly (radio host) https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-jesse-kelly-show/id1506063411 quoted an alternative scenario heard from an expert acquaintance of his. The expert said there's a high probability that if Trump wins, the lib's will instigate riots in cities, galvanizing Trump to order the Militia to quash them. But they'll refuse, because Biden's admin. had replaced the Militia with his own guys. So then Trump will send alt.militia, resulting in major chaos.

Devorah said...

Rabbi Kessin also said that Trump would assist Moshiach with regard to leaders of other countries. So if the democrats win chas v'shalom, I don't know where that leaves us.

If Democrats win, Chas v'Sholom, it will signal the end of the United States of America. It simply cannot survive four more years of this machlokes with extreme left having the upper hand. This means that US yidden will have to take a leap of faith and do Aliya rather than just sit and wait for Moshiach's revelation. Shoshana

Firstly HaShem runs this world , whatever He says goes. If He wants Klal Yisroel in Eretz Yisroel it doesn’t who is president.

I have heard of Bazrah being an end of days thing though if anyone knows.

Chodesh Cheshvan. The month of Mashiach.

🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

(By Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburg)

Cheshvan is the only month which has no holidays or special mitzvot. We are taught that it is “reserved” for the time of Mashiach, who will inaugurate the third Temple in Cheshvan.

Cheshvan, the eighth month, is the month of Mashiach, because eight signifies the eternal revelation of the supernatural (the consummate state of rectified nature being the secret of the number seven). Whereas in our present reality, the “harp” played by King David and used in the Temple has seven strings, the harp of Mashiach possesses eight strings. Just as 8 transcends 7, so does 50 (the numerical value of nun) transcend 49 = 72.

In our present reality, the nun is bent over, confined by the boundaries of nature. With the coming of Mashiach, the nun will “straighten out” (the shape of the final nun – ן), and will break through the boundaries of nature also descending (“below the line”) into the subterranean realms of reality in order to reveal there God’s all-encompassing Infinite light.

Mazal: Akrav (Scorpio – the Scorpion)

Our sages teach us that the scorpion (עַקְרָב) is the deadliest member of the general category of poisonous creatures whose archetypal figure is the primordial snake of Eden. The Hebrew word for “scorpion,” derives from the word meaning “heel” (עַקֵב) as is said: “And you [the snake] shall bite him [man] at the heel” (Genesis 3:15). Thus the scorpion symbolizes the consummate “bite” of the snake at the heel of man.

While the poison of the snake is considered “hot,” the poison of the scorpion is considered “cold.” The Mashiach is the one and only soul who can overcome, kill, and ultimately revive the primordial snake (in order to convert it to good).
(The soul of Mashiach and his continuous state of consciousness manifest the ultimate rectification of “heat,” “burning” solely in his love for God and Israel, as well as that of “cold”-absolutely “cold” to the false vanities of this world.) This is the secret of the well known gematria that “Mashiach” (מָשִׁיחַ) equals “snake” (נָחָשׁ).

Indeed, the Mashiach is also numerically related to the scorpion since “Mashiach”
(358) plus 14 is equal to 372, the value of “scorpion.” 14 is the value of David (דָוִד) and the 14th letter of the Hebrew alphabet is nun, the letter of the month of Cheshvan. Furthermore, the root-letters of Cheshvan are chet-shin-nun and they permute to spell “snake.” One final point about the relationship of Cheshvan to the Mashiach who rectifies the snake is that whereas the snake is crooked and bent the nun in the word Cheshvan is “straightened out” as it is the final nun, as above.

Tribe: Menasheh

Menasheh is the firstborn of Joseph. Deriving from the word “to forget” (literally “to leap, up and away”), Menasheh suggests the power of the tzadik (Joseph) to make us forget the hardships, trials and tribulations of this world, with the coming of Mashiach. By the power and sense of Menasheh, all of the pain of this world will transform and metamorphose into the pleasure of the Messianic …
