...without telling me we're living in Moshiach Times.
I turned on the TV, just whatever station came up, no idea what I was watching.... and then the ads came on. The first ad was this -
It then continues with a voice-over explaining what a mitzvah is:
What is a “Mitzvah”? In Jewish tradition, a Mitzvah is an act of kindness, compassion, and a moral responsibility. It is about taking practical action to help others, through simple, everyday acts of kindness that together create a powerful wave of goodwill. When these acts are carried out collectively, they strengthen the community and bring light in moments of darkness. This can be as simple as checking in on a neighbour, volunteering time, offering support to a local business, or donating to those in need.
I can't find a video of the actual ad on the internet, but I'll keep looking. Anyway, that's what it said, and it was going out on National Australian TV at a prime time, courtesy of the NSW Government lead by the Hon. Chris Minns. He's the guy that Rabbi Weiss blessed here [first video there]. And Chris Minns has definitely made himself a keili for that bracha with his speedy action on the Mitzvah campaign.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe would be so proud of this.
Reminds me of the Rebbe's billboard campaign in 1996.

Wow, imagine if this was on TVs everywhere in the world.

Rabbi Laivi Shore. Amazing shiur.

There was a perplexing short by Rabbi Breitbart where he brings a source that there is a missing 166 years in the Jewish calander, putting us at about 50 years from the year 6000. Can you shed any light on this subject?

Personally, I don't believe any of that. If that were true, we'd be way past the 210-214 year deadline. Anyway, one of the tzadikim, past or present, would have told us.
DeleteAccording to me - and I have no qualifications at all - we are in the time immediately before Moshiach. We have all the signs, and all the tzures. But it's probably going to get worse,
Our Sages knew about these dangers. One of them said: “Let him [Mashiach] come, but let me not see his coming.” [Sanhedrin 98B] He wanted the Redemption to take place, but sought to be spared the anguish that might precede its coming. Horror and Hope; Holocaust and Redemption
Extraordinary news that Bondi victim Peter Meagher who reported as a non-Jew was actually Jewish.
ReplyDeleteHe was the retired police officer, Rugby Union fan, wildlife photographer.
He put on Tefillin just before the attack.

And one of the last things he did was put on tefillin. Maybe for only the second time in his entire life.
DeleteThere were so many miracles at that terror attack, I can't even begin to start telling them all. They go on and on and on.
DeleteAn unlocked pickup truck and a split-second decision saved the lives of Benjamin and Reizel Simons, an elderly Jewish couple who were fleeing gunfire during the Hanukkah party massacre at Bondi Beach in Sydney.
The couple told the Herald that they had just left the party when gunshots rang out. While younger people hid under parked cars, the couple said that due to their age they were not able to do so. Instead, they moved from vehicle to vehicle until they spotted a pickup truck WITH ITS SIDE DOOR OPEN. They climbed inside, hid, and prayed.

“At one point, I looked up, and the shooter was exactly in line with the truck,” said Benjamin Simons. “Getting into the truck saved my life and my wife’s life.”
The truck belonged to Josh Pulford, who had been nearby and had fled moments earlier when the shooting began. Pulford said he saw the attackers and ran toward the surf club to escape.
