This was pretty good. Rabbi Weisberg concludes that the Rebbe was Moshiach Ben Yosef because he prepared the world for Moshiach . It was his entire tafkid. Its an interesting but not unique take. Because the Rebbe said that his father in law the Friedike Rebbe was Moshiach Ben Yosef and the Rebbe was his successor....so it kind of makes sense, The Rebbe, revitalized Jewry after the Holocaust and certainly spread Yiddishkeit everywhere, infusing the world with an awareness and need for Moshiach and for us to prepare ourselves and the world around us for Moshiach's arrival, there is no doubt about that whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteThe conclusion is that while the Rabbi doesn't know who Moshiach is, he knows who Gog is and he says its basically America and its presidents.

It was always spokenn of that the Rebbe was Mashiach ben Yosef. I remember very well, how could we forget?? He gathered all the yidden back after the holocaust and he was the MBY for sure.

Thank you CSF, yes Rabbi Weisberg is in agreement with Dov bar Leib who has always said George [Gog] Bush and all the US Presidents represent Gog.

And yes the Lubavitcher Rebbe was definitely a Moshiach ben Yosef, as EJ says above this comment, it was spoken about many times that this was the case.
It's also interesting that Rabbi Weisberg mentioned how people - at the time - would think that MBY was Moshiach, and that is what happened with the Rebbe. That is why there is so much controversy, and that also fits the scenario.
I listened to the whole video, which is surprising for me because usually with long videos I give up halfway... because my attention span left the building..... but because Rabbi Weisberg is talking very fast, time seemed to speed up as well and before I knew it, I'd watched the whole thing.

DeleteAs far as I am aware, Reb Dov Bar Leib on is End of Days/Years of Awe blog only wrote that George W Bush was akin to the "Gog of his generation." Because he held Geronimo's skull, as part of the Skull and Bones Society. This ties in with Magog being Asia East of the Urals plus the West coast of the USA and Canada where Siberian origin Native Americans settled. I am not aware he has written that any other American President was definitely Gog, or who the main final Gog will be. I think he has speculated that Trump has the potential to be Gog.
Maybe it was someone else who said it, I thought he said all the US presidents had /have the potential to be Gog - and it began with George Bush. Maybe Dov can respond here - I’ll email him.

BTW, R'Weisberg mentioned on the video about George Bush being Gog, and also how horribly Bush acted toward E"Y (first forcing them to be sitting ducks to the Scuds, and then sitting ducks to all the terrorists surrounding them in E"Y. Though maybe he didn't quite state the latter. My memory is vague.

P.S. I seem to recall R' Ari Goldwag, and others too, discussing an earlier redemption date than the 2034 year mentioned by R' Deane. Is there a way to reach R' Goldwag about this? That could prove helpful.

Are you serious? I've never seen A.Goldwag posting here. Note that R'Weisberg & R'Deane have been authoritatively quoting sources on both sides of their debate, so i would love to see a 3rd and even 4th party enter the fray. Those parties would have to be very knowledgeable, such as R'Goldwag, R'Kessin, R'Hajioff, R'Glatstein, and you can fill in the rest.
