Pope Francis has warned, Wednesday at the Vatican, that Christians in Iraq and Syria face persecution just as Jews have in the past. "You have suffered, now it's our turn," World Jewish Congress president Ronald Lauder said the pope told him in a private audience. "First the Jews suffered savage attacks, and the world remained in silence. Now it is the Christians who are being annihilated, and once more the world says little. Why does the world not react?" he questioned. Here is the likely answer found in Eaichah: (Lamentations Chapter 4) [21] Rejoice and be glad, O *daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of **Uz: the cup shall pass over unto thee also; thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked. [22] The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O ***daughter of Zion, He will no more carry thee away into captivity; He will punish thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom, He will uncover thy sins. ______________________________________________________________________ *The prophet Obadiah specifically mentions Edom as a people to be judged for their pride in rejoicing over the destruction of Jerusalem. Rome was founded by the children of Esau (also called Edom -- a synonym for Christian Rome and thence for Christianity). **Uz includes more southern Arabia, especially Dhofar, said to be the home of the original Arabs; Bashan in modern-day southern Syria/western Jordan; Arabia east of Petra, Jordan; and even modern-day Uzbekistan. According to the Dead Sea document, The War Scroll, the land of Uz is mentioned as existing somewhere beyond the Euphrates possibly in relation to Aram. In Column 2 verse 11, it is noted, "they shall fight against the rest of the sons of Aramea: Uz, Hul, Togar, and Mesha, who are beyond the Euphrates." *** Israel

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." "How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."
