Jackpot

They say the streets of Las Vegas are deserted now, people are not flocking there as they used to.

**********************

I've already written this in the comments yesterday, but it really needs it's own post.

Counting from the date of the establishment of the State of Israel - May 14, 1948 - until the 7th day of Chanukah this year [Dec 21] - it will be 77 years, 7 months, and 7 days, which you can see for yourself by clicking here [thanks Yaak].

If you are unaware, our world is a world of 7 and the world of Moshiach is a world of 8.
Chanukah also represents the number 8.

Seven symbolizes the Natural order, for G‑d created the world in six days and rested on the seventh, which He made holy, thus creating the holy Shabbos. Seven, therefore, represents the whole of Creation, or Nature.

Eight, on the other hand, being higher than seven, symbolizes the Super-natural. The human brain is a creation of G‑d, and part of Nature. Human intelligence is therefore limited to the Natural order; anything which is above and beyond Nature is also above and beyond human understanding. [Source - The Significance of Eight]

Video: The Light of Moshiach is Already Here
Rabbi Moshe Chaim Eade

In this lesson, we uncover the deepest secrets of Chanukah, the 36 lights, the Hidden Light, Messiah and the Rambam’s teaching on Techiyat HaMeitim (resurrection). The Sages teach that Chanukah is a preview of the world to come. A taste of the light of Mashiach. A whisper of the future of humanity. In this video you’ll discover: ✨ Why the 36 lights of Chanukah represent the hidden light of Creation ✨ Why children naturally feel the light of Chanukah ✨ How the days of Mashiach will mirror Chanukah’s spiritual glow ✨ The Rambam’s final principle — resurrection is real, literal, and essential ✨ Torah sources that clearly predict the resurrection ✨ What the resurrection actually means for your life ✨ Why we will reunite with loved ones ✨ Why the body must return in perfection ✨ How Mashiach will usher in peace for all nations

  1. It’s important to understand the reason that techiat ha metim is needed in the first place. According to Rabbi Mendel and Rabbi Shimon Kessin, the zohamah was injected into Mankind, causing death, which when considering the alternative of outright annihilation, is actually chesed, as is suffering. In order to decontaminate the body, a manner of zichuch must happen, which is accomplished by death itself. Only then can the body be rebuilt from the luz bone free of zohamah venom. This has been accomplished during people’s lives by Enoch, Eliyahu Ha Navi Zachor L’Tov, and by Serach Bat Asher. It was also performed on the entire Jewish People during the first two Divine Utterances on Har Sinai, resulting in a brief separation of body and soul and a resurrection. On the consummation of the sin of the Golden Calf, the zohamah returned. The partial remedy of the ashes of the Red Heifer was given immediately afterwards. While it on its own cannot effect a full zohamah, it removes the only barrier that cannot be removed by one’s own accomplishment.

    1. So how will all of us alive when Moshiach comes, remove the zohamah without dying?

    2. Rabbi Mendel Kessin said in one of his classes that all those living at the time of the arrival of Moshiach will briefly die for approximately 2 hours.

    3. My question also CSF, what happens to us alive when Mashiach comes. How long do we live and do we have to die or not?

    4. Unless we’re at the level of zichuch of Serach Bat Asher, we all have to undergo a brief death and experience techiat ha metim. As is clear from the concept, in order to have techiat, the condition of metim is generally a prerequisite.

suppose it’s like dowsing off to sleep and then you wake up all of a sudden.

    6. While Serach Bat Asher's body remained alive, yet there are stories of tzadikim whose bodies remained whole (after petirah). So it's a curiosity to me what's the difference between tzadikim who are niftar (albeit with non-disintegration), and those like Serach who remained alive. After all, the common denominator of all of them is they were non-contaminated by sin.

    7. P.S. Where does the soul go during those 2 hours, and what if the soul prefers to return to a body whose genetics are more enabling than the one it left? Does the soul get to really choose this time around, unlike Abie Rotenberg's neshamala song?

  3. The resurrected will all come back at their best, i.e, in perfect health, perfect form and youtful; so all who merit to greet Moshiach should be coming back to life
    in perfect form.

    1. To Anon 8:59am: Even if resurrected souls come back at their "best" with perfect health, nevertheless some genetics are way less enabling than other genetics, even if those genes are at optimal health. I.E. the optimal level of Mr.ABC may be way lower than the optimal level of Mr.XYZ.

    2. To Anonymous @5:20 pm, this will be the last
hoorah; no more reincarnations, etc. Every Jew
has a portion in the World to Come. None will come back with any defect. The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the mute will speak, the crippled will be totally healed, anyone who lost a limb will have all his/her limbs back. Nothing will be missing or defective. We just have to pray
that Moshiach doesn't delay and that our Geulah will come with great kindness and mercy.
