In honour of the 42nd anniversary of the passing of the Holy Baba Sali, which will be on 4 Shevat [Thursday 22 January], his son and successor, Baba Baruch, gives a rare and chilling interview with Channel 2000. The channel's cameras entered the holy place inside Baba Sali's home with stories that have never been told, moments of farewell, dreams, the Simchat Torah War, the message to the people of Israel and the dramatic warning: a world war is at hand.

It's not easy to understand, the sub-titles are not perfect, but if you're in a hurry, he is asked about Iran @ approx the 7 min mark.
Wow, thanks for posting this. I found really interesting the part where the דמות of the Baba Sali scared away Hamas on Oct.7th (as compared to Ofakim and Sderot). It reminds me of the miracle that happened that day at Tifrach as well. I know someone who is connected to a resident of Tifrach.
ReplyDeleteWe merit the complete Geula, because we have already suffered too much...personally and collectively. HKBH is most compassionate, and we are mere humans. Hashem Yivarech!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, I'm sorry I didn't publish all your transliterations. The problem is .... you wrote the Hebrew with english letters, which means we cannot use it on Google Translate. It would have been better if you wrote it in actual Hebrew, which can then be easily translated to English. The way it is.... no-one can really understand it.
ReplyDeleteThank you anyway, and if you have the Hebrew text you are welcome to put it here.
Devorah, by now i put alot of it into English (mostly my own translation, barely google).
DeleteI'm getting ready to post it in sections cuz unfortunately Blogger has a limited textbox.
...When occasionally i couldn't translate, i kept it in hebrew.
DeleteBaba Baruch Abuchatzera to Arutz 2000:
Shalom alechem uveruchim habaim, to you and all the viewership and all the listeners.
Q: Kavod HaRav, this year we count 42 years from the petirah of the Holy Sidna, the Baba Sali. And today we merit to fulfill the "r'ayon" in the home of the Sidna, the Holy Baba Sali. Who was the Baba Sali? To grow up as a boy in proximity to such a giant in Torah. How was the experience?
A: He stood on land, yet his head was in the Heavens. I will relate to you a story that I didn't tell anyone else. When I was a four-year old child, I was standing near the steps of the Mikva. He told me "Come, come, come..." So i went to him. I was clad in some sort of towel. He grasped me, hugged me, and brought me down into the Mikva with him. And i'm shouting, shouting "I'm cold!" He said to me, "You can shout, or not shout, from now on you'll learn what it is to be a son of mine".
Q: Does the Rav recall any sort of discussion with the Baba Sali, that he discussed with you?
A: A month and a half prior to his petira, he was clearheaded. At night, at 1:00, he began to speak to me about his "tzavaa". What he expects of me. A tzavaa indicates that a person is ready to depart from you. Your precious father, your beloved father, the greatest one in the world. I wept. He said to me, "why are you crying? This is the way every person ends off. It's inevitable, there's no escaping from it. But I want you to understand, I am your father, I raised you, I made you what you are, I want to tell you: I don't own any buildings, I don't have any money. I have but one thing to leave to you, that's the blessing which i received from my fathers. I bequeath that to you, if you follow my derech. If not - then also that I will take.
Q: The Rav will take us to that time period 42 years ago? To the petira of the Holy Sidna, the Baba Sali? What happened there during that time, surrounding his bed?
DeleteA: I was with him until the last second.
Q: Did the Baba Sali have any particular request?
A: In the final seconds, he placed his hands on my head, and he pulled me down toward him. He said to me: "My son, you got what you wanted".
Q: This was in the last minutes, haRav?
A: This was in the final seconds, not minutes.
Q: And how did the Rav receive this?
A: They phoned me, they told me, immediately i returned directly to the hospital. I went up to his ward. "Internal Deparment-Hei". I saw him sitting on his bed, and he's clapping his hands and saying:
לעושה נפלאות גדולות לבדו כי לעולם חסדו and he's continually repeating it. I was wondering, perhaps chas vsholom something went wrong with his comprehension? Maybe something happened. Then he said, "come, my son, have a seat. Do you think i caught something? Nothing happened to me. Shall i prove it to you?" He rose from his bed, lowered himself, and rose up again. And he began sort of to dance. Then he repeated: לעושה נפלאות גדולות לבדו כי לעולם חסדו Then again he repeated: לעושה נפלאות גדולות לבדו כי לעולם חסדו. And again he repeated it. He said to me: "Listen, HaKadosh Baruch Hu sent me here, because you know that alot of ill people come to me. So He (HKB"H) brought this event upon me, in order for me to experience what those ill visitors endure.
Q: HaRav, is there any particular dream that the Rav remembers from the Baba Sali?
DeleteA: In the initial years directly after his petira, he would come to me in a dream, requesting of me to report what i do, what i don't do.
Q: On October 7th, during that war, many soldiers, regiments, arrived at Netivot, and they went to the grave of the Baba Sali, and they came down here to pray and to beseech, and they requested of the Rav: "haRav bless us, we are entering Aza...and the Rav heard the stories of the soldiers, that they were relaying... the horrors, and the members of ZAKA who were here... haRav was there any particular moment that the Rav broke down, that the Rav was unable to hold back the tears?
A: Every night, i would go to sleep, cry, and get up to cry, for every soldier who fell, for every drop of a soldier's blood that was spilled. I would cry, i would cry, and pray and plead of Mor my holy father, and tell him, Stop, pray! Besides for the unfortunate soldiers who went and sacrificed their lives for the Holy Name.
Q: Kavod haRav, take us to the moment on Simchat Torah, that they confided to the Rav: "Terrorists have taken over all the "Otef??" of Aza.
A: I dreamed about Mor my holy father, and i saw him mamash angry, and in alot of tzaar. I said to him: "What's the matter?" He responded to me: "My son, there's slated to be a huge slaughter, difficult things are slated to happen". So i said: "So what? So pray, all of you assist from Heaven, why are you telling me?" He answered: "no, get up, wake everyone up, that they should pray." I told him: "What are we able to accomplish? You, in Heaven, are able to nullify everything". He said: "I am fighting hard, it's not easy, it's not easy, it's not easy. Pray." I said to him: "What will be? What will be?" He said to me: "Open the chapter of Ha'Azinu, and read there, everything that is happening is stated there".

DeleteQ: How does the Rav interpret the fact that the terrorists were thwarted here in Netivot?
A: They told me that the investigators asked them: "Why did you flee from Netivot? In Sderot you committed slaughter, in Ofakim you slaughtered, yet from Netivot you fled? They responded: "An elderly man came out to us, a frightening person, who was entirely white. He said to us: If you don't leave, I will burn all of you and the entire Aza". They asked us to show them pictures. We showed them the picture of the Baba Sali, and they pointed: "This, this is the man".
Q: Kavod haRav, we still are in the midst of a period that's not simple, also vis-a-vis Iran. haRav, are we supposed to be concerned?
A: No, we shouldn't be fearful, if we trust in HKB"H. And if we trust in our might (kochi v'otzem yadi), it will be necessary to worry.
7:33 on Slider:
I'm telling you, there will be a war, there must be a war.
Q: The Iranian Regime will fall?
A: The regime will fall at the end. But what? There will be a war. A World War. Not a war only with Yisrael.
QUITE AWHILE LATER, THE BABA BARUCH SAID
DeleteThe advice from me to Am Israel: Achdut - Unity. That we should be United. And i am certain, as I told you, you'll see, war will break out worldwide. It will start with America and Iran, and from there it will continue. And then the Nation of Yisrael will be On Top, we will be the Great Winners in this war.
Q: And we don't have to be concerned?
A: No, absolutely not. Do you know why Arutz 2000? We are by now 2000 years in Exile. Exactly 2000 years, and it states in Tehilim: "Samcheinu ke'yimot initanu, shenot ra'inu ra'ah". So they ask: "What is this, k'yimot?"The days of HKB"H, as it states everywhere, is 1000 years. Dovid HaMelech says to HKB"H: Samchenu ki'yimot initanu. 2000 years of exile = "yemot". So i want to bless Arutz 2000, that it should be the symbol of the conclusion of 2000 years of Exile.
(the Arutz 2000 interviewer was then instructed to light the match which he then handed Baba Baruch to light the Yahrzeit Candle.
Baba Baruch said: "Lichvod Kedushato shel Mor Avi HaKadosh. That he should pray for Am Yisrael and thereby bring us the Yeshua."
Thank you so much.
DeleteAnon you get a nice bracha for doing that for the Baba Sali's yarzheit.
DeleteYour welcome. I was inspired to accomplish the first (and possibly the last) half-baked translation of my lifetime. Better late than never!
DeleteToday [for me because we're many hours ahead of most of you] is the

40 days until Purim.
