Ok let’s just say it as it is and anyone who disagrees with this is being dishonest. The final numbers are still not in and things can still shift, but the left anti Bibi crowd, and I call them that because that’s literally all they stand for and the politicians who make up the bloc have zero in common other than the hatred of Bibi, well, those people have been embarrassingly defeated. Does that mean that Bibi won a major victory here? No. I don’t see how he forms a coalition unless one of the losers agrees to put his Netanyahu derangement syndrome aside and actually put the interests of this nation over his ego. But what’s undeniable is that the left was totally humiliated here. Why? Because for three years, all they talked about is how Bibi is responsible for 10/7. They called him a traitor. They attacked his wife. His kids. They called him a liar constantly. They incited against him more than anyone ever incited against any Israeli PM. Yes, even that Israeli PM. Before that, they obsessed over the judicial reform and how Bibi is trying to create a dictatorship. Then they spent years making up fake accusations against Bibi about him stealing bugs bunny dolls and cigars, all accusations that ended up falling apart. They also managed to bring in tens of thousands of voters from outside of Israel to bring Bibi down. And guess what. Bibi got the most votes in the election. That’s clear. His bloc also got more support than theirs. cont....
Here’s the thing. Unless one of them agrees to sit with Bibi, we are going back to another elections and guess what happens then. Those tens of thousands aren’t coming back to vote again. The Arabs who voted at an absurd rate will be a warning sign for those who either didn’t vote or didn’t vote for the right. If there’s another election, the Arab parties will not get this many votes, especially after the speeches some of them gave declaring proudly how loyal they are to Gaza and not to Israel. To me, the biggest loser here is actually Bennett. He can easily join Bibi and create a stable coalition. After all, he claims he’s right wing. Someone who is right wing doesn’t sit with someone like Ya’ir Golan who famously said Israel kills babies as a hobby and called the IDF an occupation army. Wanna talk about treason? Yea… So either Bennett wakes up and actually shows that he has any values left or the country goes back to elections and you can be sure, Bennett will never be this strong again. Lieberman can also sit with Bibi if he puts Israel ahead of his ego. Forget Lapid. He’s just a nobody. So did Bibi win? Not exactly. (Unless of course these last votes add multiple mandates to the Likud.) But did the anti Bibi crowd lose? They didn’t just lose. They were made totally fools of, and rightfully so. Maybe they’ll learn the lesson and actually focus on something positive with a candidate that is somewhat capable instead of obsessing over Bibi, but let’s be honest, they won’t learn the lesson and they’ll continue to lose because of it. There has never been and there never will be another campaign that is this organized and coordinated and that has one goal, to vilify Bibi. And it didn’t only come from within Israel. It was a global attempt. Parliaments, politicians, journalists, activists, they all spent every resource they have to bring Bibi down. They failed. They all failed. And the funniest part? All those loser politicians gave victory speeches last night before the real numbers came in and proved that all their propaganda channels were dead wrong and channel 14, the channel that Golan wants to shut down, they were the only channel with relatively accurate results. So, all around, the anti-Bibi crowd came out looking really dumb here but anyone with a brain and a basic understanding of geopolitics and marketing should have expected this. I know I did. The people have spoken and the obsession with bringing Bibi down yielded zero results. Now let’s see if one of these losers actually steps up to the plate and acts responsibly. Not counting on it.
It will take time, maybe a long time, to understand what’s happening. But one thing is already clear: Benjamin Netanyahu will remain prime minister for the foreseeable future. He could do it at the head of a unity government, by peeling off parties or candidates from the other side, or as caretaker through another election. Even if the next round ends more or less where this one did, there’s no way to move him.
So the picture is clarifying, and Netanyahu holds the stronger hand. The other side’s only card is the threat of a minority government, and it worries Likud a great deal. Not because the chances are high. But just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not after you. I think the odds of a minority government right now are close to zero. At Yashar’s faction meeting today, at least four of its members made clear they don’t support such a government and couldn’t live with it even briefly. It would need Ra’am’s active support and the Joint List’s abstention, Balad’s anti-Zionist faction included, and for them that’s unacceptable.
What the opposition still has is a stick: replacing the Knesset speaker and trying to push legislation through. That’s the dilemma. If they’re headed to another election anyway, they can tell voters: we replaced the speaker, we passed a law for a state commission of inquiry, and we stopped the government from weakening the attorney general. But electing a new speaker is a permanent, irreversible move. Once they make it, this option is effectively dead. - Amit Segal

Different countries advise different levels of preparedness. Having emergency supplies for a three-day period is commonly advised. France and the U.K. recently advised people to have supplies for a period of 72 hours ready.
“Don't wait for the emergency: prepare now!” a government account for the French region of Normandy said in a social media statement on Tuesday.
Japan, Mexico and the Netherlands also advise an emergency kit for a 72-hour period. Other countries suggest a longer preparedness period, with Sweden and Norway advising having supplies for about one week, and Germany advising supplies for up to 10 days.
