He's quoting from Tosefot, the battle between the two nations, and the surviving nation rules for 9 months. And 9 months from now falls out in Adar 5786.

DeleteI actually did listen, beginning to end. But what with my fuzzy memory, and my never being too good auditorily (he does have somewhat of an accent), its a bummer.
DeleteThe crazy thing is, I sorta have critical-analytic skill, but the above factors have always run counter to that.

P.S. Look, my memory is murky and I'm not well-educated on this. And so I don't understand the part where the rabbi said this is supposed to be a war between Edom and Yishmael?? (Notwithstanding Iran vs. the Qatar-American-base).
ReplyDeleteI mean after all, didn't the U.S. basically come to the aid of Israel with its bunker busters? Thus wasn't it a triangle of Israel-Edom-Yishmael?
The Maharal states that Paras and Edom have been preserved precisely because they have a role to play in the coming of Moshiach.
ReplyDeleteThe Maharal (Chiddushei Aggados to Sanhedrin 98a) also states presciently that Edom (the Christian West) and Poras (the Moslem East) will each rule concurrently, but neither will rule over the world exclusively. This is surely the world in which we live today.

I read the linked Yated article but found it very difficult to follow, and anyway, it was Rabbi Hajioff who omitted the part about 6/13/2025 being a war of =Israel= and Yishmael
ReplyDelete...with Edom(U.S.) only entering the fray after that. And I do realize the rabbi was referring to long-ago prophecies.
But its OK, Devorah. I don't really need an answer. I'm exhausted by now, and anyway, there have been many other loose-end questions I've had over the years which never got answered. Some of those were way more important for me to know than this one. So i just got used to it.

I think he might be too....there is no "J" in Hebrew...You would pronounce George. Gog. And the US is the land of George Washington, they wanted to make him King, instead they made him president and every successive president is sort of a reinactment of that. I thought George Bush was Gog too. I think Putin is Armillius. But what do I really know Rabbi Palvanov thinks Putin is Gog and there is compelling evidence for that too. But I'm leaning toward the US as Magog, it just feels like a better fit.

ReplyDeleteSomeone just sent me this video, which is very short, and he is also quoting Tosefot, same as Rabbi Lawrence above, but this rabbi says @ 1:30 that Persia will fall at the hands of Rome .......RIGHT BEFORE the coming of Moshiach. He doesn't mention 9 months.
