I watched this with the sub-titles. The Yanuka speaks to former hostage Segev, and Segev's father tells him how the Yanuka foresaw his return.
Yanuka: "I see Miracles.... you were the closest one to HKBH in this generation. Hashem brought the hostages back on purpose on Simchat Torah so the people would not be afraid of that date."
He also mentions the extra two years served by Yosef.
The most amazing part of this conversation is when Segev's father says that the Yanuka told him to read the pesukim related to Yosef and his separation from Yaacov, and their reunion. Segev's father says that he read these pesukim every day. Astonishing Segev then reveals that his terrorist captors also read to him the story of Yosef. I think he says they read it from their digital device. The Koran also includes the story of Yosef, changed a little, of course. Segev amazingly says that he wasn't familiar with the story! This part of the video call has gone viral.

ReplyDeleteJust before the comments start, there is the option to follow along with the transcript but it's also in Hebrew. If you are logged in to You Tube, the settings can be set to show the transcript in any language. Maybe even if you're not logged in. If you just read the words without watching the video, you'll miss the excitement in their voices and all the emotion.
DeleteFWIW i noted the Yanuka said "b'nissan assidim l'higael". Its hard 4me to type this, as i suddenly developed excruciating immobilizing sacroilitis, to the point i don't know how i will function anymore for basic needs. Major trauma simply to rise from chair or bed.
ReplyDeleteYes he did say that: "In Nissan we were redeemed and in Nissan we will be redeemed". The Lubavitcher Rebbe also used to say that.
DeleteUh, the pattern is different, though. I don't think the Yanuka pointed out that the PATTERN is Geulah Geulah versus Shibud Geulah. And the CHRONOLOGICAL SEQUENCE is Shibud-Mitzrayim, Geulah-M'Mitzrayim, Shibud-Hamas, Geulah-M'Hamas, Geulah-Gedolah-M'Golus. (That's excluding the 1939-1945 sequence, going back to Bavel.)
