The Gaza "Peace Deal"

by Avi Abelow

Trump’s Gaza “Peace Deal” Is Already Costing Israeli Blood — and It Proves He Still Doesn’t Understand Who the Real Enemy Is

The moment the White House Gaza deal was sold as a “historic peace breakthrough,” I feared the worst, not because I oppose diplomacy, but because I know how our enemies exploit Western weakness. Now, just days into Trump’s Gaza “deal,” those fears are being confirmed. The plan, championed by Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, is already costing Israeli lives and empowering the same terror states that financed October 7th.

Let’s be honest: Witkoff and Kushner are more terrified of the deal collapsing than they are committed to allowing Israel to finish the job of destroying Hamas and protect Israelis. Instead of backing Israel’s moral right to eliminate the jihadist cancer in Gaza, they are warning Jerusalem to hold back. According to reports, Witkoff and Kushner personally spoke with Minister Dermer today, urging Israel to “respond in a calculated manner” to avoid actions that could “collapse” the continuation of Trump’s plan. In other words: keep quiet while terrorists reload and continue trying to kill us.

And the price of that diplomatic paralysis was paid in blood today.

Tragedy in Rafah: At approximately 10:30 this morning, Hamas terrorists emerged from a tunnel and fired an anti-tank missile at an Israeli engineering vehicle, killing two soldiers. Another soldier was severely wounded. Minutes later, more terrorists fired sniper rounds at additional engineering units. This is not “peace.” This is a pause, a deadly, one-sided ceasefire that leaves our troops sitting ducks while Hamas still roams Gaza’s ruins.

But perhaps the most revealing moment of all came from a recent 60 Minutes interview with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Steve Witkoff said he felt “betrayed” when he learned that Israel had struck Hamas leaders in Qatar. Betrayed? By Israel trying to eliminate the masterminds of the October 7th massacre hiding comfortably in Doha, Qatar? That reaction alone exposes the moral confusion at the heart of Trump’s Gaza plan. And it got worse. Jared Kushner said that Trump felt “the Israelis were getting a little bit out of control with their actions and it was time to be very strong and stop them from doing things that he felt were not in their long-term interest.”

Let that sink in. After the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, funded by Qatar and Iran, President Trump, the man who is Israel’s greatest ally, was saying that Israel was the one that needed to be stopped.

This shows the fundamental flaw in Trump’s understanding of the Middle East and of Qatar’s role as the financial and ideological engine behind Hamas and the global Muslim Brotherhood movement.

Trump could have used his immense leverage a year ago to pressure Qatar and Turkey to force Hamas to release our hostages. Yet, he didn’t use that leverage until now. We could have saved so many Israeli lives, hostages and IDF soldiers had he used this leverage sooner. Instead, Trump is now stopping Israel from doing what must be done, defeating the Qatari supported Jihadi enemy in Gaza, and protecting Israel through strength, not through appeasing the jihadi Qataris.

Qatar is not a partner. Qatar is the problem. It shelters Hamas leaders, funds global jihad, and manipulates the West through Al Jazeera and business deals. Yet Trump still treats Qatar like a trusted ally, even a business partner, rather than the dangerous enemy it is.

And now, Trump’s plan has created the next disaster: an international force, composed of Muslim Brotherhood-linked countries like Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt, set to take control of Gaza.

This isn’t peacekeeping. It’s outsourcing terror management to the same powers that nurtured Hamas. Even worse, France and Britain are pushing a UN Security Council resolution to formalize this “international Gaza force” (ISF). Once that resolution passes, it will be virtually impossible to undo, trapping Israel under an internationally controlled Gaza, while jihadists regroup beneath it.

Have we learned nothing from UNIFIL in Lebanon? That “peacekeeping force” has been a total failure for decades, allowing Hezbollah to rearm, entrench, and threaten Israel with 150,000 rockets. Finally, UNIFIL is being disbanded. And now Netanyahu is being pressured to accept an even worse version in Gaza? An Arab-Muslim internationally approved “peacekeeping” force commanded under CENTCOM, with Qatar and Turkey embedded inside it? That’s not peace; that’s surrender wrapped in diplomacy.

Let’s be clear: no ceasefire, no foreign force, and no international supervision can stop jihad. Only Israel can. The only resolution that ensures Gaza will never again be a launchpad for massacre is 100% Israeli control, complete demilitarization, permanent oversight, and removal of all terror supporting Gazazan via Trump's emigration plan. Anything less means another October 7th in the future, just under a new name.

And the elephant in the room remains Qatar. The refusal by Trump, and the entire international community, to confront Qatar as the primary sponsor of the Muslim Brotherhood is the single greatest obstacle to lasting peace. Until Doha is treated as the enemy it is, every “peace deal” will simply buy time for the next war.

I say this as someone who respects what Trump did for Israel, in this war, in recognizing Jerusalem, the Golan Heights, the Abraham Accords etc. but this time, he’s wrong. Dead wrong.

Trump's instincts to support Israel are being clouded by the same old State Department thinking that sees terrorists as negotiators and sees Israel’s self-defense as aggression. True friends tell hard truths: Qatar is not your friend, and appeasing it will only guarantee more bloodshed.

Israel must refuse to be boxed in by this plan. We must tell our American allies, clearly and unapologetically: only Israel will decide what is necessary for its survival. We will not outsource our security to the UN, to Muslim Brotherhood states, like Qatar, Turkey and Egypt, or to global diplomacy that has repeatedly failed to protect us.

Peace will come, but not through “pauses” that empower killers or through international forces that serve jihadist agendas. Peace will come only through Israel's total victory, strength, clarity and Trump's emigration plan for all jihadi Muslims.

Trump’s Gaza deal may have bought quiet for the cameras, but it’s already costing us lives. It’s time to end this illusion of “peace” before we lose more lives.

We are winning this war, and we will win this war, even if we have to suffer the consequences of this bad deal. The most important process taking place is the wake up process of the Jewish people. We will overcome.

Am Yisrael Chai.
