      This was interesting to read. Israel is similar in a couple of points, confiscating workers earnings through oppressive taxes and a massive re-distribution of wealth. Right out of America's playbook.

    He was never our friend.
    Am Yisroel has no friends. We are a nation apart and alone and that was always the way it was meant to be. When they are our friends it comes with a steep price and strings attached. When they welcome us and treat us as equals we have American Jewry of which a significant portion are not even halachically Jewish and are so badly assimilated they hate Israel because they see themselves as Americans not Jews.
    We have no true friends only Hashem and that is all we need

    Anonymous at 8:19 pm you are so right. It has taken most of us a lifetime to learn this hard lesson and it was so costly. Israel must manufacture all its arms and depend on no one, only Hashem. AP

    Whilst we are a nation that "Dwells Alone", it is not correct to say that we have no friends.

    There are some righteous gentiles who help us, and we have an ancient pact with the Druze. The Federated States of Micronesia, The Marshall Islands, Nauru, and Palau are strong friends.

      Some country in Africa was ready to come over and fight for us. I think we have many good relations with African nations, not all of course.
