Are We Witnessing the Prophecy?

Current News

The United States is concerned about threats from Iran against Saudi Arabia and will not hesitate to respond if necessary, a White House spokesperson said on Tuesday.

"We are concerned about the threat picture, and we remain in constant contact through military and intelligence channels with the Saudis," said the spokesperson from the National Security Council.
"We will not hesitate to act in the defense of our interests and partners in the region."

The official spoke after the Wall Street Journal reported that Saudi Arabia has shared intelligence with the United States warning of an imminent attack from Iran on targets in the kingdom.

Prophecy

In its section on the biblical Book of Isaiah and the prophecies contained therein, a rabbi cited by the Yalkut Shimoni states:

“In the year Moshiach comes all the nations of the world will provoke each other and threaten with war.   The king of Persia (Iran) will provoke the King of Arabia (Saudi Arabia) with war.  The King of Arabia goes to Edom (The Western Countries, headed by USA) for advice.

The prophecy continues:

Then the King of Persia destroys the world (and since that cannot be done with conventional weapons it must mean nuclear which can destroy most of the world). And all the nations of the world begin to panic and are afraid, and Israel too is afraid as to how to defend from this. G-d then says to them “Do not fear for everything that I have done is for your benefit, to destroy the evil kingdom of Edom and eradicate evil from this world so that the Messiah can come, your time of redemption is now.”

Iran has been attacking the Saudis for years, using Yemen as its proxy. I don't believe this report at all. Following the report, all Americans were urged to flee the Kingdom. Maybe the Saudi's just wanted the US out from its sovereign land.

Edom is Magdiel (Rome)

Not just Rome, it is the West.

There are various opinions as to which countries represent what. We'll only know when it's over. And remember, Moshiach comes when we don't expect him. (שלושה דברים באים בהסח הדעת: משיח, מציא, עקרב.)

according to Rav Kessin he interprets Persia as Iran, but in a recent video Rabbi Efraim Palvanov and also Rabbi Daniel Glatstein explained that actually persia nowadays is not iran but Russia. bottom line we do not really know.

i googled translated this:

(שלושה דברים באים בהסח הדעת: משיח, מציא, עקרב.)

it read like this:

(Three things come to mind: Messiah, bargain, scorpion)

what is bargain, and scorpion, please explain...

Devorah said...

Those are the 3 things that arrive unexpectedly: a bargain, a scorpion, and Moshiach.

Devorah said...

Yes Enrico... Rabbi Palvanov teaches that Russia used to be Persia/Iran, so when the prophecy says the King of Persia, we have a couple of places to choose from.

מציא is a "find" not necessarily a bargain
הסח הדעת is more like when you're not paying attention

Meaning, we'll think things are just continuing as normal, we'll maybe even be despairing of him coming, and suddenly Moshiach will be here.

Anonymous at 6.40: It's a wellknown saying "three things come unexpectedly: a metziah, a scorpion and Moshiach.
I have always translated Metziah as a bargain.
I wish Anons would use a name, it would make things a bit easier.

Reb Dov Bar Leib has commented that Persia/Iran, Russia, and The Medes/Kurds) share the spiritual identity of Dubiel, the Bear. דּוּבִּיאֵל. This is the guardian angel of those nations who is an accuser against Israel.

If I remember correctly, I read that it’s Moshiach, a scorpion and a found item

Devorah said...

Now that you've written it that way, I believe you are correct. I was just translating the word metziah, which is what we use to call a bargain.

metziah
An extraordinarily great deal that's worth putting in effort to get
