New Kessin Video

Due to the arrival of a new baby in the family my blogging will be intermittent for a while.  [No I did not have a baby but someone very close to me did].

Here is the latest video from Rabbi Mendel Kessin, recorded at the Ra'anana Kollel erev Yom Kippur. I have not heard the whole thing, and most of it we have already heard before, but for those people who had trouble understanding some of the concepts, he does go into more detail here.

This shiur focuses on the world and how we got to this point: with two meshuggenas running for President.  Trump vs Hillary and Hashem's Plan.

I would like to wish you all a chag sameach for Succot, and as I will be busy helping the new mother, I will not be able to update regularly until after the Chag.    Chag Sameach !   Moshiach Now !

Isn't the opposite true ? If life is to easy, people forget G'd (?) So how can vulgar materialistic Trump ever be a preperation?

What Rav Kessin says towards end about Trump and why he will do great mirrors this wonderful take:

If you cannot bring yourself to trust in Trump’s words, then you can safely trust in his vanity. It is true, of course, that every recent president has betrayed his supporters: George H.W. Bush raised taxes, Bill Clinton had sex with that woman, George W. Bush embraced an arrogant foreign policy, and Barack Obama has waged war from Syria to Ukraine. Will not Donald Trump do the same?

It is possible, but unlikely. Donald Trump loves to be loved by the American people. And it defies everything we know about human nature to believe that he will throw away that intoxicating populist love in favor of the approval of an anti-nationalist elite whose affections he has already rejected.

Hard to reconcile why Hashem would bring Trump to save America (and Israel) after having brought Obama to do the opposite?

Tishbi, I'm beginning to agree with your assessment. For most of this year, I thought Hashem allowed Trump's unlikely rise to power in order to use him as a saviour of sorts, for both America and Israel. But now that he failed to crush Hillary in all 3 debates, and his numbers are so low, I've changed my mind. Now I think Hashem allowed Trump's rise in order to ensure a Hillary win. Any other Republican candidate would have demolished Hillary in the debates. Trump is the only one who has no clue how to take apart her arguments.

If the polls are correct, it looks like it would literally take an "act of G-d" to get Trump elected. I guess it could still happen, but it seems more likely that the next 4 years will be a continuation of Obama's destruction. Well, we shall see in 2.5 weeks.
