Arrogance is the Root of All Vices

by Rabbi David Hanania Pinto

“But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and I will increase My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt” [Vaeira 7:3]

Rashi explains: “But I will harden”: Since he [Pharaoh] behaved wickedly and defied Me, and I know full well that there is no delight among the nations to make a wholehearted attempt to repent, it is better for Me that his heart be hardened, so that [I can] increase My signs and My wonders in him…

Nevertheless, in the first five plagues, it does not say, “And the Lord strengthened Pharaoh’s heart,” but “Pharaoh’s heart remained steadfast.”

These are the words of Rashi. Since Hashem saw that Pharoah had intentionally hardened his heart, He reinforced his hardness of heart, but at first, despite all the plagues that befell him, Pharoah persisted stubbornly in his rebellion and was not inclined to do teshuvah, even after seeing the truth before his eyes that whatever Moshe said came true with every plague.

We need to clarify, from where did he get the strength to persist with his wickedness and hard hardness and refuse to let the Jews go? After all, the Egyptians were struck with painful plagues, so why did he not change his mind?

This is because the vice of arrogance was his ruination. Arrogance is the root of all vices.

When a person is proud and arrogant, he is not ready to listen even to true messages that others tell him, even if he sees the truth before his eyes. His arrogance blinds him to the obvious truth; consequently, he becomes trapped by his pride.

On the contrary, when a person behaves humbly and unassumingly, he is a receptacle for all positive virtues. He has a sympathetic ear to hear others and is capable of accepting his fellow’s point of view. If the latter is right, he admits the truth and accepts those who say it, whether they are younger or older than him. However, Pharaoh, the wicked, did not behave in this way. He stubbornly hardened his heart despite the painful plagues.

    2. He backed down. However, there does seem to be quite a bit of silence right now. I don't see him sending the bombers again. Everything was lined up "locked and loaded" as they say. And at the last moment, he pulled back. No one is really saying why he ordered the retreat. Obviously, he was threatened by something that made a bigger impact. However, he made a promise to the people, told them to stay in the streets, take over institutions and that help was on the way. They believed him. And he betrayed them.

  8. Wait..... I just read this from Afshine Emrani.

Dear friends. Last night, the world held its breath as reports surfaced of fighter jets taking off from Europe and Northern Israel, recorded flying over Iraq toward the Iranian border. To the average observer, the silence that followed looked like a "nothingburger"—a false alarm or a mission aborted. In reality, what we witnessed was a masterclass in strategic deception and psychological warfare. President Trump and Israeli leadership did not just launch a mission; they launched a trap. By creating a scenario where the Iranian regime was certain a massive kinetic strike was imminent, they forced the Ayatollahs to hit the "red button" on their entire defensive strategy. Believing the end had come, the regime activated every emergency protocol they have spent years perfecting in secret. They played their best cards before the game even started, and while they scrambled in panic, the United States and Israel watched their every move.

In those few hours of perceived attack, the regime’s entire "nervous system" was exposed. We now possess the exact coordinates of the hidden bunkers where senior officials flee during a crisis, the secret emergency frequencies they use for "blackout" communication, and the specific procedures they follow at every level of command. This was an intelligence harvest of unprecedented proportions. By the time the regime realized this was a ruse, it was too late to change the locks. We now have the roadmap to their entire survival strategy, leaving them with no time to implement alternative protocols. While the world looked for explosions, we were busy dismantling the regime’s ability to defend itself. We are now more prepared for a final confrontation than at any point in history.

This moment marks the beginning of the end for a 47-year disaster that began with the failures of the Carter and Obama eras. For nearly five decades, the "long drive" toward freedom has felt weary and endless, but last night provided the answer to the question: "Are we there yet?" This is a two-front war for the future of the globe. On the physical front, we are seeing a high-stakes chess match with China, using massive leverage to isolate and reclaim Iran and Venezuela. On the spiritual front, this is the ultimate battle of Light versus Darkness—a collision between the strength of Messianic Israel and the corruption of the Ayatollahs. The intelligence on the ground is undeniable: the foundation is crumbling, the era of executions is coming to an end, and the momentum is now unstoppable.

The timeline is set. History is moving at a pace that cannot be ignored. The regime is projected to fall by March 15th, and by 2027, the symbolic return of Pahlavi will mark the dawn of a new era for the Iranian people. The "long drive" is almost over. From Washington D.C. to Jerusalem to the brave souls on the streets of Tehran, the forces of good are rising in unison. The regime no longer has the tools to hide or the time to recover. Do not be fooled by the lack of smoke on your television screens; last night, the tide officially turned. The good people of Iran and their allies have already won the strategic battle. Now, we simply watch the clock run out on a dying regime.

Hold the line and stay patient. The victory is already written. God is in charge.

Who is WE?? Does he mean that the grassroots people of Iran were watching every step the senior officials took? But how would that be possible? Wouldn't the officials prevent anyone from watching them? As for spy's embedded in their midst, I thought the officials and ayatollahs became paranoid about that by now... Then again, there's the phenomenon of "remote-viewing"...

  15. It is with deep sorrow that I write about the shedding of a considerable amount of innocent Iranian blood that has been set up by the Trump American administration. This is a repetition, albeit a much greater scale of the 2009 Iranian Green Revolution by the Obama Administration back stab.
I want to make it clear that Trump did not allow Israel to finish the job on the Mullahs back in June last year as he also stopped Israel against Chamas, Hizbollah, Syria and Yemen. I also want to make it clear that Trump's 20 point ceasefire plan in Gaza laid the foundation of a future Fakestinian State, something that was also underlined during his first presidency.......for the sake of his Abraham Accords.

There seems to be no logic in Afshine Emrani assertion.
We are dealing with extreme Shiite Islam that believes that bringing on WW3 instigates the coming of the 12th Iman, their Mahdi. The Ayatollahs have no respect for human life, be it Fakestinian, Houti, Lebanese, Syrian and lastly their own people. Their obsession of wiping Israel off the map and by extension all world Jewry has been clearly stated since 1979 and cannot be denied. Therefore, if they saw that the writing was on the line, they would have pushed the proverbial buttons and seen themselves as martyrs for their cause.

Under the Cater Administration, Israel gave up the Sinai - Land for Peace.
Under the Clinton Adminstration and the Oslo "War" Accords, Israel gave up Chevron, Beitlechem, Sh'chem and large areas of Yehudah v'Shomron - Land for Peace.
Under the Bush Junior Administration, Israel gave up Gus Katif - Land for Peace.
Under the Trump Administration, a two state solution is on the table.
    The ongoing template is set.

In summing up, Trump is only interested in protecting American interests and more importantly the petro-dollar which is being challenged by BRICS. Saudi Arabia is posturing in selling its oil in Chinese Yuan.
Is it not strange that Trump removed Maduro from Venezuela but left Vice President Delcy Rodriguez in power? However, Trump has taken over Venezuela's oil. There was no regime change just the seizing of Venezuela's oil.
Trump has taken over the stewardship of Gaza.
Trump has removed sanctions on Syria and is aiding an ex- ISIS commander.
Trump is planning to take over Greenland for its rare metals and other natural resources.
Trump has done deals with Qatar(funder of Chamas and Global Jihad) for $1trillion investments in the US and is planning on selling F35 jets to Saudi Arabia.

The USA is in deep financial stress. China just relinquished $500 billion in US Treasury Bonds. Trading in silver has been stopped. SWIFT as the international system is being challenged by Russia's SPFS and CIPS.
This is the weaponization of Finance under the guise of virtue signaling.

So let's take a deep breath and realize that Iran was threatened for its support of BRICS, SPFS and CIPS. I suspect a deal has been reached and the Mullahs have acquiesced. Innocent lives have been sacrificed on the altar of US Foreign policy going through its death pangs. This makes Gog u'Magog much closer whilst the footsteps of Mashiach are getting louder.

    Shabbat Shalom

  18. The harsh statements of Israeli officials against U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff: “If it turns out that he is among those blocking a strike on Iran, that is far more than a coincidence.”

Amid growing disagreements with the Trump administration over the composition of the Board of Peace for Gaza and the question of a strike on Iran, officials in Israel point to a key figure behind decisions seen as running counter to Israeli interests: Envoy Steve Witkoff.

The officials mention sustained dissatisfaction with Witkoff. Sources close to the PM Netanyahu told me this evening: “For several months now, the feeling has been that envoy Steve Witkoff has strong ties, for his own reasons, across the Middle East, and that at times the Israeli interest does not truly prevail in his decision-making.”

This criticism relates both to the proposed inclusion of Turkey and Qatar in Gaza’s governing bodies and to the Iranian threat. A senior Israeli official put it bluntly: “If it turns out that he is among those blocking a strike on Iran, that is far more than a coincidence.”

  21. Afshine Emrani:

For forty-seven years, the Islamic dictatorship in Tehran has entrenched itself through terror, regional destabilization, and the systematic oppression of its own people. To dismantle a machine this old and this brutal, you do not move with reckless haste. You move with calculated, overwhelming precision.

While many are feeling a sense of devastation over the recent pause in strikes, it is essential to look past the immediate headlines and focus on the logistics. The tragedy in the streets of Iran—where 23,000 lives have been sacrificed—is not being ignored. It is being documented as the final proof that this regime has lost its right to exist. But 47 years of tyranny cannot be undone with a half-measure.

President Trump has made it clear: he has no interest in another "forever war." He is not looking to repeat the mistakes of the past by dragging the world into a decade-long ground conflict. He is setting the stage for a definitive, fast strike—one that takes out the head of the snake and leaves no room for the regime to recover.

Consider what is happening away from the cameras:

    * The Diego Garcia Deployment: Four U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemasters are currently en route to this isolated launchpad. These massive lifters aren’t carrying rhetoric; they are carrying the specialized gear, fuel, and infrastructure required to sustain heavy-hitting operations by B-2 stealth bombers and B-52s.

    * The "Standby" Signal: Moving military assets is the language of intent. By pausing publicly while swarming the region privately, the administration is keeping the regime off-balance, forcing them to guess where and when the hammer will fall.

    * The Economic Noose: The immediate 25% tariff on any nation trading with Iran is a financial blockade designed to starve the regime’s remaining resources while the military pieces are being locked into place.

The "silence" that feels like abandonment to some is actually the focus of a predator. When the board is being set for a major operation, you don’t announce your moves. You secure your supply lines, you position your stealth assets, and you wait for the precise moment where one strike can do the work of a thousand skirmishes.

The scale of the tragedy in Iran is indeed staggering—eight times the scale of 9/11. That is exactly why the response must be absolute. The families who were forced to pay for the bullets that killed their children deserve more than a symbolic gesture; they deserve the total dismantling of the system that fired them.

To the people of Iran: Do not mistake a pause for a retreat. 47 years of history is a heavy weight to lift, and the pieces are being moved so that when the strike comes, it is final.
Storms don’t arrive with sirens; they gather quietly in the distance. The C-17s heading for Diego Garcia are the clouds darkening on the horizon. The "Major Storm" is forming. When it breaks, it won't just be a strike—it will be the end of an era. Iran will be free, and it will remember those who had the strategic discipline to ensure that once the regime fell, it stayed down forever.

  22. What Amir Tsarfati is saying is plausible:
“Were the last 48 hours part of a Trump genius move?
He pushed the system to its limits. The Iranians shifted into a defensive posture developed from lessons learned during the 12-day June war - relocating senior officials to secure locations, activating secret emergency frequency alternatives, and implementing additional contingency measures. Convinced, like much of the world, that an attack was imminent, they fully exposed their newly trained emergency procedures at every level.
Once it became clear that this was a deception, they were left without the time or flexibility to execute an alternative set of protocols. While Iran believed the moment of truth had arrived, the Americans and their partners were closely observing how Iran responds under pressure and how its updated emergency procedures differ from those used during Operation Rising Lion.
    And now?
    Now the Americans are ready.”

    ReplyDelete
  23. It's all a bunch of BS. The first Iranian to be hanged, has already been executed. There is no "pause" of anything." Witkoff works for Qatar and probably also the mullahs. For sure he serves money, as does Trump. Witkoff put Qatar and Turkey in Aza. We're being told to shut up, it's "not our show." Don't be surprised when all the US firepower is used to force us out of Aza, Shomron and Judea. The only politician genuinely in pain over what has happened in Iran is Lindsey Graham.
