Who remembers the first night of Chanukah last year? Bondi Beach.... the murder of 15 people..... have I jogged your memory?
15 is one of the numbers of Hashem's Name: it is a Yud Heh : Yud is 10, Heh is 5 = 15.
The Talmud finds an allusion to the period of time for a full-term pregnancy in the Hebrew word, “harayon” הריון –which also means “idea.” The numerical value of “harayon” is equal to 271, which is equal to nine full months [Niddah 38a].
Now, let's count nine months from the date of the Chanukah attack... in fact let's count the number of days of a pregnancy, as specified in the Talmud - 271 days.
From the first night of Chanukah 5786 until the first day of Rosh haShanah 5787 is 271 days or nine months... the exact duration of a pregnancy.

What are the chances? Coincidence? We don't believe in coincidences. In Jewish thought and the Torah, a literal "coincidence" does not exist. Instead, what looks like random chance is viewed as Hashgacha Pratit [Divine Providence]—a hidden signal or deliberate moment orchestrated by G-d.

ReplyDelete"The State of Israel was built. Israeli society developed. And now, quietly, tens of thousands of non-Jews on multiple continents are choosing to live by the universal moral laws given at Sinai to all humanity. They are called Noahides. They are awakening. They are organizing. And for the first time in history, they have an address: Jerusalem.
This November, the most committed Noahide leaders from around the globe will gather in Jerusalem — to formally establish the World Noahide Movement.
The question is not whether or not this will happen. It's happening. The question is who will be there when it does."

Why do some Jewish women covering their head, wear such heavy face make up, to follow world values on so called 'beauty', ?
ReplyDeleteIs this the real Judaism or... the one given at Siani mountain.
Did God say... And Jewish women must cover their hair, with the stylist of scarves, and apply lots of make up on their natural faces, that I gave them... "
too much confusion, among Jewish teaching..
"Some say , yes,
Some say, NO..
Some say,
Do, as you please
Or
Follow your own created
High Way.
I don't have an answer for you because it's a personal decision made by the woman. Covering one's hair is not meant to make a woman ugly, she is allowed to wear make-up, there is no prohibition against it. It may seem counter-intuitive to cover your hair and then apply a lot of make-up but it's not breaking any law, and the hair covering itself is enough. You may just as well ask why some women wear wigs [sheitels] instead of a fabric to cover their hair. Again, it's a personal decision, and maybe their husbands like them to wear make-up and a wig.
DeleteAlso bear in mind that many women go out to work, and feel the need to wear a wig and make up in the workplace. It's not for anyone else to be judging them negatively.
DeleteOnly their husbands see their real hair, and whatever they choose to cover their hair with, they are still fulfilling the mitzvah.

DeleteYes, they should look fantastic and in anyway the feel they need too! Why should they look shlumpy in front of their husbands, children, friends and outside world that already criticizes the Jewish people. Women today are not modest in the goyish world, they dress so indecent, with no morals and values. Our husbands don’t have their heads in the sand they are able to see this, our women have to complete with this. Also why shouldn’t we feel good about ourselves , why dress in frumpy clothing, shmatta on your head?
Look good in whatever type of clothing, head covering as long as your follow the rules. Sorry that’s my point of view.
Some anonymous people getting upset about things. Let's stop judging other people and concentrate on ourselves. We are at the end of days, we are the heel, we are very far away from the holiness of previous generations. Let's not expect everyone to measure up to previous generations, it's a miracle that people do any mitzvot at all. Hashem is the Judge, not us. Look in the mirror and judge yourself, not anyone else.
DeleteAnon with no name, my feelings have not been hurt, I just don't want these comments descending into attacks on people who are just doing their best, whatever that may be, and that includes you as well, whoever you are. We just need to stop judging others, we don't know what they've been through or how they've struggled. I don't care what religion anyone is, just leave everyone alone and judge yourself.
