You Were Sent To Earth With A Mission

Rabbi Simon Jacobson:  Your soul was sent to Earth with a purpose. Are you living up to it? If you want to change your life, start with that question. You can't get anywhere without a mission statement, and here is the basis of how to find yours.

How does one learn to match their gifts where there purpose. And how does one figure out their mission?

David: if there is no clear cut ''mission'' then you must do whatever you can to the best of your abilities. Whatever gifts Hashem has bestowed upon you should be used to their maximum potential, and to help others wherever possible. Pray to Hashem to help you achieve your potential. Everyone can do something, no matter how small, or seemingly insignificant. Sometimes just being alive in order to help someone else is all it takes.

''The Baal Shem Tov said that a soul, in addition to keeping the Torah and mitzvot, may descend to this world and live for 70 or 80 years just to do a favour for another in the material or the spiritual realms. How does one know one’s own specific purpose? How does one know which favour is the purpose of one’s soul’s descent? The answer is that everything happens by Divine Providence and if a person is presented with a certain opportunity, this is certainly sent from Above and should be treated as if it is the purpose of one’s soul’s descent.'' David and Devorah I want to tell you what happened to me yesterday. I am not someone who calculates their income and gives an exact ten percent, I am random tzedaka-giver. Yesterday I very much wanted to donate some money as tzedaka and I saw a link to a GoFundMe for a sick boy in NY and went there to donate..but unfortunately GoFundMe does not take Paypal and I do not have a credit card, so I could not donate. I was disappointed, but as the day went on I completely forgot about the tzedaka. That evening I received a call from a guy collecting money for a yeshiva in Tsfat and to help young women get married, and it was out of the blue, I never receive calls like this. I thanked him profusely and took his bank details and made the tzedaka donation. He told me that he had a list of names to call and he should have started at the top of the list but he randomly chose my name first ! You see how Hashem gives opportunities to do the mitzvot even if you yourself forget about it. Take the opportunities as they come to you. That is your mission.
