"Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad with her, all you that love her..." [Isaiah 66:10] - from the
Daily Zohar on the day the Embassy was opened in Jerusalem.

During the UN meeting today on what has happened in Gaza lately and on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the state of Israel Nikki Haley has called Israel a Light unto the nation (Ezekiel).
I somehow feel that we must not be misguided here. Maybe the embassy move is a part of the 'geulah process', but in no way does this actually 'give' us Jerusalem at this time, (any more or less than before ) and in no way does this government prove itself to be a light unto the nations....
We should be cautious in our reaction to current events such as these, as we don't yet know how things will turn out. Only time will tell. There were xn prayers at the opening ceremony. And the whole thing is heavily supported by evangelicals.
By way of analogy, Hashem chose to bring Moshiach from Lot and his daughter. But Avraham Avinu, who had prophecy, did not celebrate the birth of Moav, the opposite, after the event of Lot and his daughters he moved away from Lot to distance himself from his sin. But Hashem's ways are not our ways, and what He requires of us is to keep the Torah, not break it, or celebrate others who do. And there are numerous prohibitions regarding idol worship and the people who turn us to idol worship (aka evangelicals). Not everyone who "loves" Israel is our friend.
The same applies to anything that increases immodesty in the Holy Land. Maybe we are unable to prevent it ourselves, but at the very least we should not be celebrating it. There seems to be a lot of confusion amongst some who seem to think that any Israeli achievement is good regardless of its content. (And btw an Israeli "achievement" of note is Tel Aviv being voted the most gay friendly city in the world. That also brings a lot of tourism to Israel). We do not need to curry favor with the nations at any cost and in contravention of the Torah. We trust in Hashem not the UN.
It is clear that we are living in momentous times, and judging by the reactions of some they can also be very confusing times. But it is precisely at such a volatile time that we need to be increasing holiness and distancing ourselves from anything that is its opposite. Even if it is possibly part of the geula process. Just as with Lot's daughters, they are Hashem's secrets, and not for us to be involved in.

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." "How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."
