Stay Shtum

Dov bar Leib took the words out of my mouth in his latest comments.

I had some time to re-evaluate the situation during the past couple of days.

Until those hostages are safely returned and the orange one is installed in the White House, let's stay shtum.

It's a five hour turn-around between the time the Bidens depart and the Trumps are installed. Melania said the removalists and the packers have 5 hours to get things organised and she's bought some new furniture.... I hope that includes a new bed because I would hate to think that the Trumps are sleeping on the Bidens' bed....

So it's a no talk, no comment time until the hostages are back.

God speed to them all, may they be safely brought back and then we can talk.

  2. The Israeli prime minister’s first speech since the ceasefire deal was announced, said he retains the right to resume war in Gaza and it has US backing to do so should the second stage of the ceasefire be fruitless. Netanyahu warned that if Hamas didn’t stick to their side of the deal, he would return to war “in new, forceful ways.”

For more than 15 months, we’ve all been fighting for the return of the innocent men, women, and children held hostage by Hamas in Gaza.

Now, as their return home feels so close, we continue to pray and demand that no one is left behind. We need every single one of them back home.

We got to know the families. We learned about their loved ones through the stories they shared with us. These hostages have become our family. They are our brothers and sisters, our parents, and our children.

We will not stop. We will not rest. Until every single one of them is back home, our work is not done.

    Bring them all home now.

  9. The irony of the drafting of hundreds of yeshiva bochrim the same day as the hoped for release of hostages is not without inner meaning I think. I think that it is very clear that HaKodesh Baruch Hu is running this show and the best we can do is to hold on. We have been held back from ever winning this war from the beginning. The first ceasefire was already not a good sign imo. By lengthening the war it has increased the pressure to recruit the chareidim; Israel cannot handle long wars like the West can. We are a reserve army country; most of our fighting force is married men with jobs. That has increased the tension between the Tzionim and the Chareidim more than even that with the chilonim. And the emotionalism around the hostages has hampered our negotiating position from day one. We have been and remain, even with Trump, under the thumb of Esav and the Erev Rav abroad and within. Hashem should protect us......

  11. There is so much disinformation floating around right now, even from our own PM, that I agree and have been writing this everywhere...don't say anything until we see what we see with our own eyes.

  12. So the current exchange rate for 33 Jews = 1000 Palestinians (3.3%). Their rate, not mine.
Per Palestinian sources around 45,000 of their people have been killed during the War of Redemption.
"Palestinian math" says 3.3% of 45,000 Palestinians = 1485 Jews. 1706 Jews were killed in this war.
Per this algorithm we see that more Jews have been killed in this war than Palestinians.
If this is the way they want to play - the argument of proportionality becomes mute and then we are in a death toll deficit from the war they started.

  13. The Hamas terror group says in a statement that it will be releasing hostages Romi Gonen, Emily Damari and Doron Steinbrecher today (local Israel time).

  14. Hamas will string out the hostage release for as long as it can. It's psychological warfare.
Of course every Jew wants the hostages to return home alive.
Just as we rejoiced over Gilad Shalit's return.
But it brought us Oct 7.
So it's impossible to be happy about the 'deal'. Good comment from Dershowitz. approx, it's a deal in the same way that you pay a hefty ransom for the release of a loved one, knowing that the kidnapper will rinse and repeat.
