OCMD

If you read the Geula blogs, then you probably have it.  OCMD.  Obsessive Compulsive Moshiach Disorder.  I certainly do.  I've had it for over ten years now, and there is no known cure, or medication available.  You are obsessed with the coming of Moshiach and Geula.  Once you have it, you will probably always have it, because even though you've been let down several times and you may try and remove yourself from it and focus on other things, you will find that it comes back again because any alternative is not sustainable.  To NOT anticipate Moshiach is far worse, because the world is so unbearable without the hope of Redemption.

The inauguration of D. J. Trump is bringing us a lot closer... you know that guy, the one with the gematria of Moshiach ben David.  That in itself is a big hint.

Now I happen to think that Trump himself will do the best he can and will be a great President, but the trouble may come to the Jews simply because he is doing the best he can.

Yesterday I read something written by someone I highly respect, even if we don't share the same political views.  First she linked to this article Twenty-seven Jewish Centers Across U.S. Evacuated Amid New Wave of Bomb Threats  and commented that ''Racists are emboldened because of his election. It's a green light for homegrown racists and white supremacists. It is an unfortunate but common mistake to assume that terrorism aimed at Jews must come from Muslims. In America, terrorist threats towards Jews are much more likely to be from white supremacist groups and homegrown racist nutjobs.''

Add to that the fact that Trump is surrounded by Jews, including his own family, and you have a recipe for a mass anti-semitic uprising, G-d forbid.  There are certainly enough Americans already who ''refuse to accept him as President'' and it won't take much for them all to blame the Jews.

I believe [as Dov Bar Leib informs us] that we are in the final nine months before Moshiach - this process began on January 15 at Paris, when they kicked off the war of Gog u Magog.  I just hope my OCMD is not deluding me again.

Great post. Count me among OCMD, its been 12 or more years for me, even back when I stood in line for dollars by the Rebbe, attended shiurim and studied the Torah sheets that came out from the Rebbe's farbrengens. For a long time I have looked beyond everyday events in the world and how they might be signposts on the road to the Geula. I always search for the "Hand of HaShem" in the events of the day. It's so great there are others that feel the same.

I definitely have OCMD

Count me in - I've got it bad! But even though everyone around me thinks I'm crazy and they are humoring me...I cant shake this unmistakable feeling he is almost here. Its not hope, its a kind of knowing not based on facts or events, or faith...just this sort of sense that hangs over me, constantly. Its kind of superimposed itself on my current reality and daily life. I don't care what anyone thinks anymore. I talk about it in conversations all the time. Like I very casually mention that I'm doing such and such bc its important for when Moshiach arrives...ect. You should see the looks I get...you'd think I was the hillbilly in a tinfoil hat yelling that aliens had abducted me, instead of reaffirming one of the basic tenets of Yiddishkeit.

I also have it. I wake up and scan the news for the signs. Every day Hashem leaves the breadcrumbs if we're just willing to see with emunah. It keeps me going. I believe with all my being that we are going to be redeemed in our lifetime, that G-d is going to reveal mashiach. Everything is from Hashem. This is His world. He wants to do this for us. We're partners and it is important to remember that. We must do our part.

Oh Goodness.... have it also!!! Big Time... *:-) When we were little girls, we were still in the church, but always always thought of it and imagined it... but now that we've been out of the church, and learning from the Rabbis and Torah, and Hashem being One and HIS Name is One... learning Truth... it is the total focusing of every day.... Love your posts, Devorah... they keep us looking and hoping and longing for a Better Day... when HaShem will be One ... among His Creation once again... and His Name will be lifted up and we will all love the Truth that will permeate the world and heal everything, everywhere... We will follow the Teachings that were given centuries ago...

How incredible that we are living in such a Day as this... in our very life time...

Israel... i apologize to You for the hatred that the different religions and different regimes of the world have tried to do to all of You... How the world has merited not being destroyed is beyond me... HaShem has kept You all for such a Time as this!!! You are a Precious People... and the whole world will love you and Your Message that You bring to a very lost world... We need Truth and Emunah.... NOW!!! The world does not deserve You... Thank you for holding on to the Precious Things over all these years... Thank you...

I've had the OCMD since I could remember; come from a household where Moshiach was always in the conversaton. Today we feel it more than ever because it has reached its b'itah time, when he has to come. The lady you wrote about is just a liberal with a liberal mindset and blames everything on the right - truth is that an anti-semite is an anti-semite, no matter he/she calls him/herself. right or left. The worst anti-semites today are leftists who are aligned with the muslims. There are ultra rightwing anti-semites in the US but fewer than the leftists who have the mainstream media (both newspapers and electronic) backing them up.

Ok, I completely have OCMD. I do not have any intention what so ever of attempting to get rid of it, especially now, at this late hour!!! I hear his foot steps approaching the threshold.

Count me in as a deplorable OCMD. :)

Which is why I made aliyah when BHO made his "aliyah" to presidency but my family wasn't ready, so we came back and stuck through another 4 years of BHO, and now we have Trump. Waiting for Moshiach everyday...

We are here! All the signs of Moshiach's arrival are ripe and fulfilled! Only a FOOL isn't getting ready for excited for the IMMINENT arrival of Moshiach!

One important observation. OCMD means Obsessive Compulsive Moshiach Delight.
You all having such a mental state are evolved souls qualifying for olam haba. So, enjoy the feeling!
PS. Include Yeranan Yaakov in the group as well.

Trump isn't going to bring Moshiach. Only our mitzvot can do that. Say what you want, but I have doubts about what will be accomplished during Trump's presidency. Obama repeated many policies of Bush II because he had to, as in, he entered a specific situation where the game was already set, and played the cards he was dealt (this isn't a defense of Obama, this is just giving some context). Who is to say Trump won't just repeat most of Obama's policies for the first year or two of his?

Trump having Jewish family members doesn't do it for me either. Remember Trump early on said he would treat the fighting over Judea and Samaria as a "real estate deal" and many pro-Pally websites were even praising him for his apparent "neutrality" on the issue. He only began coming out as a die-hard supporter of Israel when he faced ridicule for his otherwise cavalier attitude.

Hi, I feel like I belong to your club of OCMD. I find comfort in seeing that I am not alone. For as far as I remember as a child I was already waiting for Mashiach to come. Let us observe mitzvot and spread ahavat chinam around us. This is the only and right way to speed the gueoula process. Shabbat shalom

I am part of this crowd, too, since at least 10 years ago! And I am 76 years old still believing I will see him at his coming.

Onward and upward with unfailing emuna, b'ezrat HaShem!

Of course no one knows for sure how things will unfold under Trump. But I think all can agree his election was nothing short of miraculous. Whatever he may have said about a "real estate deal" it is a fact his daughter and son-in law are Jewish and some close advisors are observant and pro settlement.
Needless to say I have ocmd. Hard to imagine anyone visiting this site more than once wouldn't. It is nice to know I'm in good company.

Agree with Anon @6:15 pm. Of course, the leader of any nation has nothing to do with our being worthy of receiving Moshiach Tzdkeinu. He just is put in his place at the right time that H' deems it so and, hopefully, it will be beneficial to us, the Jewish people, and to the U.S. and the world. We pray for his success to the good of Eretz Yisrael and for America. We have to do teshuva each on his/her level.

As far as repeating the mistakes of the previous presidents; the truth is that the president that comes in is also going to be taking orders. We think he has the complete control - doesn't work that way. Believe Pres. Trump really means what he says and will try to go in the good direction which the people voted him in for, but he might have a hard time getting from point a to point b! Tnere are powerful forces who control. But, Hashem is the real Power behind everything.

Medinat Yisrael should stop relying on her ally (USA) for salvation. She should make a deal with Hashem and return to Him, as that's the only salvation.

Today is the 24th AND I JUST SAW THIS POST! I cannot stop laughing! I showed this to everyone at work. Yes indeed, I now have the right label that I can tell my spouse. I can also now look square in the face of those that chuckle at me and I can say... "Please forgive my outburst I am doing my best in dealing with my OCMD. I just can't explain it - it just, it just, well, ....what can I say."

How original! Thank you for putting this together for all of us.

Yes, Goldie, I saw that too! ;)

All: I am most certainly part of this group. Lately I have been, not trying to cure my OCMD, but to get more into it by training for a new career that will help me to make the source of my parnassah efforts solely in E"Y. I don't have as much time for online stuff as I did before, and even then I didn't have that much.

I think that all those who are in training with me have it too...and even the vast majority of Yerushalayim...get ready and watch out, y'all...!
