R.Kessin states that the USA will be the final battleground of good vs evil. Years ago there was a "Megillat George" claiming that that Bush I and Bush II were Gog and Magog ('George and m'George'!):"The biggest enemy of the State of Israel is the United States!" (Professor Paul Eidelberg). The Divrei Chaim cites the Malbim that Moshiach will come from America. This has to be: can you imagine Moshiach being an Israeli-born Sabra?! At 22.22 in this clip of his latest weekly 'Jewish Truth Bomb', Lenny Goldberg plays a recent clip of an extremist-sounding Jonathan Pollard and says "Is not Jonathan Pollard the closest thing that we have to Moshiach right now?!"

Awhile ago (maybe a year or so), Rabbi Kessin spoke about the founding of America on 17th of Tammuz as a
positive. I don't remember exactly what he said about it, but I think it was about the softening of Galut for the Jewish People - a place where Jews could practice Judaism and study Torah freely. I'll have to try and find the shiur where he discusses the 17th of Tammuz in relation to America's founding. But I guess it can be both positive and negative at the same time.
